What a great little RTR. I love seeing buggies like this because it reminds me of all the Tamiya kits from when I was a kid. My buddy and I were just laughing the other day about how they would break so easily and then we'd have to wait for about 2 weeks for somebody to drive us to the hobby shop for parts. Lol If you had the time it would be really cool to see a review on a re-release of something like a hornet frog or Blackfoot ect.

Arrma RC make great products. Cool to see you giving some love. More people need to know how good these RC's are. I have the original Raider and Vortex and love them both. The 6s 4wd 1/8 scale Kraton MT and Typhon buggy look amazing..They should hit shelves in the states very soon. Look forward to your running vids.

I bought the 2013 version last year and loved it. I still have it, in fact. Curious to see how you like it, or not. Looks like they made a little more room in that battery compartment, which was needed. At least it looks like there's more room. Also, keep an eye on your servo, mine stripped within a dozen packs, although my daughter's driving didn't help. Haha. Great new look for this buggy and cool unboxing. :)

Is it just me, or does nobody else notice that on your version Vas, it had the cool aluminum twin vertical plates, and this new version, does not. I thought that was the single coolest feature of the truck. I wonder if the old style can be installed.
@MatthewFant

So, I did some digging, And according to the arrma website, the aluminum chassis braces are available as an option. I liked them better standard, but at least you can still get them, as I think they really make a visual difference!
@AussieRCPlayground
@AussieRCPlayground 10 жыл бұрын
Matthew Fant I had not noticed that until you mentioned it. You're right! I guess that explains why this new version is cheaper than the one I bought last year...

it has some sweet looks fir its size....but i really don't like the bottom opening battery compartment.....it reminds me the toy cars of the past we had as kids and also the botom end of an offroad vehicle will probably be the most pounded part of the car especialy on heavy offroading/bashing/jumping....its not a good idea to put a botom opening battery compartment there.....the chassis of a hobby grade offroad rc car must be unified and solid, not hollow with compartments.....other than that it does look to be a good rc....looking forward for some running vids....thank you for another awesome preview brother, thumbs up!!
@TheRCNetwork

Yeah, I was questioning the bottom compartment too, but I like it when companies try different things. I think the cage really hold things up from inserting the battery up top.

Is the ESC LiPo capable? Even if not, can you see if a LiPo stick-style pack fits in the battery compartment? I think earlier versions of this car had problems fitting LiPos (battery wire wouldn't fit in compartment). Look forward to a running video of this car. It looks cool!
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 10 жыл бұрын
Yes, it has a couple of Switch like plugs that when plugged in a certain way will capture the Lipo cut off feature. I ran it with a slightly smaller 5450 Max Amps 2s Lipo and it fit fine. It was a little tricky to get the wires in, but it worked fine
