I might have been pretty peeved at him for spoiling Chrome's fairytale ending, but this was a horse whom I've grown to admire, look up to, and respect, qualities that have grown even more after being stunned by his untimely death. You won't suffer anymore buddy: you've earned your place among the greats. Rest in peace Arrogate. See you in the afterlife. :)

Very sad, indeed. When he came back from Dubai, he was never the same...it was like he wanted to veer to his right, his neck and head seemed to tilt that way. I wondered if something was wrong...he never regained form. Hoping we get the results which can tell us what may have happened to him...was he neurologically damaged? I was a huge Chrome fan, but Arrogate had a magnificent, if fleeting, time on the track...RIP...shedding a tear for Arrogate.

Some thoroghbreds are destined for greatness...Bred, with a desire and drive to win...This horse was one of those Thoroughbreds....I do not know the complete autopsy results which are required by all equine/other insurance companies carried by owner/owners of this caliber of thoroughbred....By law a inquiry must be completed by the Thoroughbred industry.. If found,to be negligent on the part of owner/trainer farm or stable penalties and possible band from thoroughbred horse racing community..2013 to 2020 Is a very short life span of a thoroghbred horse.. Regardless of status,religious background, other.... I will say this,it is my personal opinion,this horse was murdered....

@rheaking78394 жыл бұрын
That's what I am wondering. Why isn't anyone saying what happened? 7 years old is way too young😥
@leavrhovec59474 жыл бұрын
@@rheaking7839 The racing is what happened. This poor stallion was raced from two-year old up until his retirement. There are so many problems that could occur with race horses. Problems with joints, disclocated knee or whatever you call it, broken leg, heart problems and etc. So many beautiful young horses are ruined when they are only two years old and start racing. Horse's bones are not fully grown till they are about four or five, yet they are drugging them and forcing them to run which ruins their bones. That's why so many accidents happen and the only one to blame for this accidents are greedy humans who only look how to make more money out of these poor horses. And everyone who says that horses love to race is an idiot. Yes, horses love to run, but only when they are FREE in the pastures with their buddies, not when someone whips them and urges them on. When disasters on the track happen, everyone blames the horse and no one will blame the cruel humans who ruined the horse's life. Horse racing is cruel, disgusting and all about the money. When the money is involved, it's never for the benefit of the horse. That's why sadly this accidents still happen. This beautiful stallion could have lived 30 years if only his life wasn't ruined from the day he was put on the track.
@emmabesko41244 жыл бұрын
Lea Vrhovec starting to race at 2 is more beneficial to racehorses, as it helps the bones grow to adapt to racing. Arrogate loved his work, and his neurological issues were unpreventable and had nothing to do with his racing career. He had been retired for 3 years. Accidents can happen anywhere, the racing industry is the only discipline that records deaths and releases them to the public
@suzanneyoung80114 жыл бұрын
@@leavrhovec5947 he had already been retired to stud. Racing did not cause his death. It was a neurological issue. Could have been EPM or a bad case of Wobbler Syndrome that he developed where the vertebra push on the spinal column. Neither one of those have anything whatsoever to do with racing, no matter at what age a horse starts to race.

@courtneybrummet42803 жыл бұрын
horses only win 60% of the total purse I think. So it says 6 million for the breeders cup, but Arrogate actually only got $3,600,000 and so on. The other 40% is divided among the 2nd-4th place finishers I believe
