Immediately before that, Oliver said "I have an idea" (meaning asking Barry for help was what he had in mind). Regardless of whether or not John puked, I'd have loved if he turned to Oliver right after Barry dropped them off, and said something along the lines of "Not one of your better ideas."

@@angelaphsiao I know right? When Barry grabbed him near the end of "Crisis on Earth-X", for a moment, it looked like John may manage to not throw up. But, he then pukes and tells Barry "A little warning, next time?" However, "next time" ended up being later in that season of "Flash". Iris mentioned being unable contact Lyla, but that she can try John. Barry then says "I'll just go get him". The only thing Iris, Caitlin and Cisco are then worried about is having a bucket ready for John to throw up into. It seems like a long shot given Barry's speed, but I'm sure John would've appreciated if one of them sent him a text in that moment, notifying him that Barry was coming.

I loved Cayden James purely for the actor. The actor is also on the show Person Of Interest and that was a REALLY good but very underrated show. When I saw him messing with the tech in this scene the only thing that came to mind was “Finch” (which was his name in POI).
