To be fair Roy in the comics loses an arm, loses a child, loses a wife, and becomes a heroin addict. He gets better but it would be awesome if the reason Roys on the island is because he lost everything and sent himself there as atonement.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite episodes ever and I think it’s the best premiere the shows had that ending and those parallels of Oliver and Felicity were really great

Oh yeah I was totally not refreshing youtube every 30 seconds, waiting for this... (regarding the episode and the money that new GA gave to the people of the Glades, it actually parallels Oliver's actions from the pilot: there Oliver targets another dude that stole money from people in the Glades. He steals some money from him and delivers it to families who were victims of the bad guy. And it's pretty obvious that Dinah is like Quentin from season 1. That storyline totally mirrors Oliver's first mission as the "Hood". Just like William finding Roy parallels Oliver finding Yao Fei on s1. I'm just saying... is it a coincidence? Eh my money is on new GA being Old William...)

Watching Oliver beat that dude with the weight made me feel like I was watching a snuff film

New green arrow points towards Roy. Roy grew up in the glades - he always had a soft spot for the glades and the fact this new green arrow is handing out money to the glades businesses makes so much sense.

This was such an awesome premiere and start to arrow i cant wait this felt exactly like arrow season 1,2, and 5.

Radu's Coffee Shop in the comics has an apartment above it where Green Lantern Kyle Rayner once lived and he frequented the coffee shop and also designed the logo and has appeared in some green lantern comics. It also featured in the smallville episode 'Absolute Justice' briefly.

Like Eric said, Felicity's strength is her mind and computers. She physically bought William time to escape but Argus is what saved them. So the best way for her to protect William, in my opinion, is with her mind and a computer. The best way for her to stop Diaz is to pair her skills with argus or some other muscle (NTA) and she can't do that in witness protection. So to me it makes sense to hide William with argus protecting him. And her doing her thing to take down Diaz. Yeah it's sad William doesn't have his family but I really think he's physically safer this way and when Diaz is gone the threat will be over.

I understood everybody's motives, the action was great, great mystery, this could potentially be the best season in a loooong time. The only thing not sure about is the villain. If it is The Dragon than he needs to do a better job giving us that villain presence because at the moment he feels like someone they can take out next episode.

I really love Felicity hair. It somehow made her hotter then she ever been, and that saying something.

The first seasons started with Oliver or the Green Arrow running in the woods and now this season starts with William running in the woods, could he be the Green Arrow now then? Stephen Amell has also said that they are introducing something or someone that could carry the show for years to come, so i guess in someway this would be Ben Lewis as William and possibly Green Arrow.

The new Green Arrow is future William gone back in time with Nora because both of them grew up without their dad's. In particular I think Oliver is the key to save Barry from disappearing in the future crisis since theoretically Oliver would've still been in prison/missing in that future. By having the Green Arrow present for the crisis it potentially changes Barry's fate.

I just realized that if you look at the Legends of Tomorrow episode where they go to the future the code to the warehouse is 4587.

Didn't think about it till you guys mentioned Oliver not giving money to the poor like the new green arrow does, but he actually did that in the pilot. If I remember right he steals $40 mil and gives it back to all of the people it was taken from who Laurel was representing. Kind of a cool nod seeing this green arrow connected back to something that happened in the pilot.

I am enjoying 2 things: the new osts from the trailers and this episode, and the cinematic direction. There were so many cool types of cuts, like oliver's picture to the people, his face lighting lingering after the lights went out. They werent nothing we havent seen before, but man were they executed nicely. It's like they decided to put effort into nearly every transition and go for interesting camera angles. It really enhanced the experience. Hope the rest of the season is like this.

When Eric and Aaron were discussing who the New Green Arrow could be and saying it could be someone from Earth-Two, I remembered that Robert Queen is Green Arrow on Earth-Two, so what if he's the New Green Arrow???😱What if he somehow made his way to Earth-One to recapture/find Black Siren - who I'm pretty sure was engaged to Earth-Two Oliver and who Earth-Two Robert might have been close to or would feel responsible for stopping/protecting - but then Earth-Two Robert saw that this Earth's Green Arrow was imprisoned and decided to help him and Earth-One Starling City? The New Green Arrow has a list just like Earth-One Robert Queen, and wouldn't it be kind of fitting to have Oliver - who has sacrificed so much and built so much based on what started with his father's original mission/legacy, to be saved by a version of his father?? Also didn't Earth-Two Robert get revealed as the Green Arrow on his Earth, so it would make sense if he also came to Earth-One to escape being arrested or something, and the Earth-Two Oliver died so maybe he'd try to kind of make peace with not being able to save his son by saving Earth-One Oliver. Thoughts anyone???

The actor that portrays Diaz, Kirk Acevedo, is billed as a series regular: I think Diaz will be around for awhile.

Is it just me or is Diaz officially the least threatening villain ever? Like really? You couldn't kill Felicity in a one on one fist fight? I get that he might have won if he had more time but the fact that she managed to beat him in any way shape or form while he had a gun to her head is hilarious. I really hope they bring in a better villain this season (or bring back Prometheus somehow? He was a threatening villain.)

When Darhk took over Iron Heights, Brick was released. Brick and the Green Arrow did face each other, when Darhk sent him & Murmur to kill Noah Kuttler (Felicity's father). Green Arrow shot Brick through the hand preventing him from killing Noah. They fought before Brick and the Ghosts disappeared, and then fought again later that night with Green Arrow winning. (S4 "Monument Point")

They are setting up a Legacies Version of Arrow. Early specs have alleged that William is around 30 in the flash forwards and a tech billionaire running Smoak Tech. A character named Maya is going to be introduced soon and is more than likely going to be the future version of Oliver and Felicity's daughter. Rumor has it she's from the future, and the one under the hood.

William is New gen Arrow, Gets trained by Roy and goes back in time

About William, Beth (Showrunner) told Collider that William will appear as a kid and a adult as a parallel, so they can show how his life with a bunch o vigilantes and bad guys affect his choices and life as an adult.

The way I interpreted the new Green Arrow is that he is an older William in a timeline where Diaz never gets caught and Oliver is still in jail or at least forbidden from being the Green Arrow as part of his release. In that timeline he found Roy who, like Oliver in season 2, went into self-imposed exile. However, unlike Oliver who had family and friends to convince him to return to Starling City, he stays on the island. I think this is because the only person Roy truly considered family or a reason to return to society is Thea, and she is with Nyssa and the League of Asassins. Therefore, Roy refuses to re-enter vigilantism but offers to teach William. After being trained on Lian Yu, Older William contacts Sara (remember she was there when Oliver was arrested, so she'd be willing to help William) and goes back to the current timeline. He uses the hosen, which Felicity gave to him and promised to take back after Diaz is caught, to confirm his identity to Roy. I think we are going to have to accept that Roy is not going to be the new GA in this timeline. He may help out the team in some way but not don the hood. Oliver made it super clear that Roy Harper was not the Green Arrow in his identity reveal speech in season 6. I am pretty sure the new showrunners and writers are going to stick to that since it would be too obvious a writing choice and Roy never took up the mantle in the comics. Remember in the premiere of Flash, Wally said the Legends have a theory that there are hard points and soft points in the timeline. He said Nora could help catch the villians but not mess with anything concrete in the timeline, like when Barry's mother died For Arrow, I think the most recent hard point in the timeline is Oliver revealing his identity and going to prison. As long as William does not prevent that, and solely goes after Diaz and his associates, then the timeline will stay in tact. Plus, this way Diaz can't find out his identity because William is already in the timeline as a teenager so he won't be able to get any ID information on older William. Once he's caught, Sara takes adult William back to the future and then Oliver gets released in the 2018 timeline.

Even though this hardly felt like Arrow, it’s fresh and new which is something the show really needed

Hahaha, when Eric goes "It's a FLASH FORWARD!!!!!!" I got all hyped and gitty like him!!! So happy for this! So is it Roy from the future? Or is it Olies kid from the future who was trained by Roy!?

Man was I happy on that first scene in the dream. Jokes aside, this episode was fantastic, definitely my favorite Arrowverse premiere this year. That ending had me so confused though, but I think the new Green Arrow is either Roy or William, though I think the way they showed us the list is hinting towards it being future William. If it is future William, he could've gone back in time to free Oliver from prison. And it wouldn't be hard to explain how he got there since Nora also went back, they could've gone back together. But as you said, I'm not sure Arrow would go there.

Or just maybe it's Barry Allen from a different earth.

This season premiere was incredible, i am really looking forward to this season and I really like it when Arrow has a mystery archer cuz it’s so well done and well written.

According to the showrunner the flashforwards are 20 years in the future so that would make it the year 2038. If it follows the future established in Legends of Tomorrow that is 7 years after the uprising of Ravager Grant Wilson. During which time everyone is presumed dead and Oliver had gone into exile for 15 years from 2031 until he was discovered to be alive in the year 2046 after Ravager overtook Star City with an Iron Fist. Perhaps that is where these flashforwards are going. If it is Roy would be in his mid to late 40s and William would be about 36-37 years old

Crazy theory, could the new Green Arrow be Artemis, we never did find out what happened to her when the Island blew up.

I thought this was a pretty good premiere . The prison storyline I am liking so far ,it seemed like Oliver sort of regressed back to being in the island with him just trying to survive prison ,lay low and hopefully have his sentence reduced ,intrigued to see where it will go . In terms of Star City , I thought both Renee and Dinah had valid points in their arguments and now they seem like they are gonna be going up against each other which I’m intrigued to see , The Felicity stuff was fine aswell . The action was well done aswell for the most part ( the Felicity/Diaz and Oliver and inmates parallel fight, Renee’s one shot scene etc.). However ,I was not expecting us to get Flashforwards .. I thought there were flashbacks but man ..that threw me for a loop . Why is future Roy on the island ?..why is Adult William trying to find him and how will this tie into the present ( hopefully no time travel ). Also , with the amount of flips the new GA was doing ,I thought it was Roy (though it still could be ) but why does he have his own list ?. The new mysteries give me a S1 feel and I dig it so far

and we will see all the other characters in the future, too.

Diaz let her go to make a point that he can find felicity anywhere anytime and I’m not 100% sure but apparently Beth Swartz will be changing the canary character around a bit Dinah will be stepping down as canary to focus on being a police captain and laurel will be the new canary

Every season opens with someone running, usually Oliver, so the opening sequence had to open with running. Using a dream was a good way to incorporate that tradition.

I believe that William is the Arrow and that Oliver’s probably dead so William goes back in time to save his father by preventing events that will lead to his fathers death

@BlindWave this new green arrow is William from the future and is helping his dad & crossing off names from the list like Oliver did in S1. it's history repeating itself. So maybe the flashforward at the end is actually a flashback if that makes sense.

I believe what the new arrow did draws many parallels to Oliver in season 1, the first thing he did was steal that money from Adam Hunt, I think, and distribute it to firms in the glades including Laurel's firm I think. Maybe what this new arrow is doing is following the exact same apth oliver took in season one going as far as the list. Just a thought.

Oliver first episode was him taking from the rich with adam hunt and give the money to the glades. I think they wanted to mirror Oliver's first appearance with this green arrow's appearance

actually, i think that the new green arrow is william. my theory is that adult william from the future traveld back in time to save oliver (oliver probably died / something happend to him) and you can tell that because the last scene is from the future when william went to lian yu to roy so he could train him and explain him about his father and the list he is croosing is the future bad guys. (there wasent much on the man who the new green arrow (william) took down and probably he is going to try save his father and make the world better/
