They really nerfed Black Siren. She went from easily destroying buildings and almost killing The Flash to getting KOed by Felicity. I mean she didn't even get knocked out when she got hit by a car.

Nicky's anger was a perfect summary of my thoughts throughout the episode.

I'm everywhere but this episode was bullshit! Black Siren on The Flash leads zoom's meta human army, can take down loads of buildings at once, nearly killed barry allen (who is a meta human), gets knocked down by a car and gets up but on arrow she can't kill anyone and gets knocked out by a punch by felicity? seriously lol... they made her so weak. and a new black canary?? UGH

For every hater who doesn't understand logic. Laurel wasn't underpowered, she didn't kill them because Prometheus said that. Please rather watch episode and don't write stupid comments.

Katie Cassidy was the best part of this episode. Her acting was great even though the story was just okay or terrible, depending on your perspective. The worst and weakest elements of the episode were Felicity and the idea of someone replacing Laurel as the Black Canary. Also, Black Siren is way too powerful to get knocked out by Felicity. Even so, Katie Cassidy did a good job and still had some really cool scenes.

With all these comments saying that Arrow's writers are bullshit for downplaying Black Siren this episode, she was under Prometheus' commands. He didn't want her to kill them, he only wanted to mess with their heads. Black Siren could have easily disobeyed Prometheus and killed them instantly but then she'd be in some deep shit afterwards.

After watching "Second Chances", here's what's frustrating about Arrow. It's a show with good writers. Like genuinely, because Second Chances was a WELL WRITTEN episode. The problem is that Marc Guggy makes stupid ass decisions. Like when they killed Laurel, I was actually excited BECAUSE I saw a window of opportunity where they could "fix" and do a reset on Laurel's character. My theory was that they were going to use Black Siren to essentially revamp Laurel, and then give her the storyline they're currently giving to Dinah Drake. No but seriously--WHY CAN'T THEY GIVE THE SAME STORYLINE TO BLACK SIREN? Dinah Drake kills two people in "Second Chances" and Black Siren is a straight up killer. But remember Oliver? He was a straight up killer. He of course killed in the name of "justice" but the whole story behind Dinah is about saving her from the darkness. For Oliver, he had to crawl out of the darkness from his grief of losing his father and what happened those 5 years. Why couldn't he do the same story for Black Siren's Laurel? That scene where she talks about Oliver being dead for 10 years actually gave me hope. Imagine, Oliver and Laurel both suffer a great tragedy and Oliver goes the path of the hero while Laurel goes the path of the villain. As she says, she didn't become evil by choice, it was one bad mistake after another. Which means, though it may be a long road, she is still redeemable. This is called good writing because you full circle that shit and link back to previous seasons and moments. I'm not opposed to this new Dinah Drake, but there is no POINT. YOU HAVE A PERFECTLY GOOD SOLUTION RIGHT HERE, WHY INTRODUCE SOMEONE NEW?

I just came to see their reaction to Felicity slapping Black Siren and the fake Black Canary.

I thought the episode was good but Felicity and the ending sucked. Worst part is that it made more thematic sense for Oliver to take down Black Siren as he is finally accepting of who she is, but not giving up on who she could become. The new BC is a terrible idea but it could be fixed. Have this be the way that Oliver tries to honor Laurel's legacy. Tina and Oliver get closer by episode 15 and the ending of the episode be where Prometheus roars back in and kills her. This sets the stage for the end of the season and raises the stakes to a more personal level. Also another factor is that Katie Cassidy is really busy. She had booked bunch of projects and had to fly back and forth each day to film the two episodes of Arrow. She just finished while they are filming episode 14/15. So either way, we would have not seen her until episode 16.

I want to know why Felicity's glasses didn't break ;-)

its a mother daughter thing in the comics, i dont think people have realised after what 5 seasons now, this show doesnt follow the comics like at all...

1. Siren was pulling her punches because Prometheus wants them to suffer, not die 2. She relied on her scream and not fighting because she had been in a tiny box for six months 3. She probably figures she owes it to Prometheus to help him because he busted her out of the clinker but I think he might have some advantage on her -- he might have something in his ears to negate the scream plus he was choking her in the scene so she couldn't scream 4. I think E2 Laurel is like E1 Oliver in that she feels she have been damaged too much and can never become the person that deserves to be with someone like her Oliver, which is how he feels about his Laurel. I actually think E1 Olly and E2 Laurel are better suited to be in a relationship and only E1 Oliver can redeem her which they were setting up in this episode.

Why does everyone hate felicity so much right now I mean I know she changed after season 2 but she was bound to change after being around oliver so long I like the way the change is going because felicity is finally having her own voice and is not backing down maybe she will become better then before I do admit she was a complainer at first but I like the dark undertones that she is taking. what will it take for you guys to start liking felicity without a complain that she needs to be killed ??? and as far as the punch felicity has been around the guys and girls when they are training it's a possibility that she picks up on some things even if they are not perfect . and she punched laurel hard because she put all of her hurt and grief and anger into it seriously all of you want oliver with laurel when they would never work because laurel dosent trust oliver fully for it to ever work out and oliver can never be himself when around her he was most happy when he was with felicity and now that they are apart he is starting to grow up more and think about what he is doing with his life so stop hating on the olicity ship if you don't like it you just don't like it you don't have to complain every five minutes

This season of Arrow has been pretty good so far...season 4 was a dumpster fire

Okay quick question: How the f@ck does Prometheus know about the legends? I'm pretty sure that he has no way of knowing about them. Unless this all ties with the legion of doom storyline over on LoT and he got a tip from them.

Just when we thought they learned from their mistakes in S4, this episode happens. All hope for the rest of the season lost, I'll keep watching just for the sake of finishing it but if they don't redeem Black Siren at some point in the season, I'm done.

I'm starting to hate Felicity again cause you four made such great points on her and oh man... I think to take her off the show, they can have her face someone or Prometheus and they say if she doesn't leave and never return, people will die and that's how they get rid of Felicity while not killing her (pleases that 7% of people who like Felicity) and have Curtis take her place! Boom, it's that easy! And P.S., I love just the end where Nicky keeps saying "No". I agree with you and I think in S6, there should be a kinda Green Arrow/Black Canary Rebirth happening. Oliver wanting to reform Black Siren = good Oliver hallucinating Laurel when a woman comes to save him = good Oliver having blinders on when it comes to someone looking like Laurel = good Oliver stashing Black Siren in a secure place so he can work on trying to reform her = good Despite the other things happening in this episode I think the endgame for Oliver is still Laurel, but Earth 2 Laurel. He will figure out a way for her to let him in and I think once he gets to know the real her the way her Oliver knew her, she will be the future Black Canary. I think this new character may come in but be a way for Prometheus to kill someone without killing anyone on the permanent team (i.e. just like Billy Malone) as a means to getting to Oliver again.

I really think the new Canary will be better then Katie Cassidy's and that's just from seeing the promo. I just found the acting of Katie as Laurel Lance really awkward and cringe at times. Also she was not believable at all when it came to the fight scenes, she didn't even have any coordination when she ran.

I literally watched this and thought "Nicky is gonna cuss a lot during this reaction." Although I don't always agree with the Felicity hate, I have to agree that if Black Siren was enough of a bad ass to kick the Flash's ass and knock down buildings with her cry, there's no way she should be breaking a sweat against Team Arrow or getting manhandled by Prometheus. The actress who should play Black Canary is Ivana Milecevic from Max's Banshee. There's a whole episode where she goes on a tear beating up bikers and roaring around on their motorcycles. All in classic sexy black leather! Or if not her, then the actress who should have played her in the old Smallville series: Sarah Carter. She was in the DOA movie, the old Black Sash series and Falling Skies. She can screen fight awesome! They could introduce either of these women as a aunt or half sister the Lance girls never met.

its possible that this new black canary is based of a version of the black canary from the comic "elseworld finest: supergirl and batgirl", who isn't laurel lance and is someone else or it possible its the version from the comic "generations lost" who is also not laurel and is a woman who is daughter of two lesser known superheroes, Hawk and Dove, who have powers of flight, medium levels of super strength, animal based transformation, which means they can turn into the animal they are titled at will and individual body (on there own) parts if necessary, in fight other situations that come up.

Sorry not sorry but I thought this was a damn good episode through and through. Also Black Siren not becoming Canary (Right Away) made sense because she is evil, it would just seem forced for her to go "oh your kindness has reformed me, I will carry on the legacy of this earths Laurel", at least they said Oliver is keeping her close to try and get through to her so that is probably a hint that she will be Black Canary in the future. Even Felicity's choices made sense because in the shows timeline she just lost her boyfriend, blinded by grieve and revenge for her killer and this imposter (to her) posing as her dead best friend is working for him. And to the argument of why Black Siren was "pussified", it was literally in the episode that Black Siren wanted to kill them but Prometheus said no and he is a better fighter and killer than her even with her powers, she was holding back for self preservation.

I still think they are going to turn black siren into black Canary, also "it think there is someone out there worthy of Laurels legacy" you: yea shes Laurel shes argus right now lol.

Nicky, I understand your frustration, but i feel like you are picking the wrong fight; the fight I have been picking about this episode is that if Black siren is that powerful why is she taking orders from Prometheus, why would she be afraid of him? also like you mentioned i think the reason that black sirens powers weren't killing them was because she was controlling her power level as Prometheus told her not to kill anyone at that point.
