Good evening all you beautiful souls! Isn't it just amazing to see Skinny so beautiful nourished with the the thickest coat I think I have ever seen her have. Although this pandemic has caused so much heartache it definitely warms my heart that so many are making their way to monkey hill and not only enjoying the beautiful flora and fauna but also filling all the bellies of our beautiful macaques! Although we usually don't get to see Skinny very often she is definitely a bright star, although she is on the literal bottom of the barrel she is an amazing mother to Skimpy and I can definitively say that as long as Skimpy can avoid the cage she will give back to her momma what humans took from her, the baby snuggles! Ok back to the video, I just wanted to post that while it was fresh in my mind...

Poor scooby, he sure looks unhappy...that honking has become a tic ... but it seems it is reassuring to him....

I'm surprised one of the older males hasn't trounced Scooby for all that caterwauling. It's one thing to warn your troop when there's a threat, but this is just noise for the sake of making noise. He could end up being booted out of the troop by the time he's two.

I think you're right AM. Those monkeys around Skimpy seems like family. That little cutie looks a bit like Skimpy did as a baby. It's interesting to see how much Skimpy has changed during the time we haven't seen her. They all change a lot but we are so use to see most of them often so the change are more gradual and not so noticeable. First when I saw Grandee with that younger male I thought "Oh no! I hope he hasn't been ousted and live with a bachelor group". Glad it wasn't the case. Maybe they using Scooby as a warning signal for the other troops😁. When the boys came down first Scooby was quiet. Closer to the road the "honking" started and maybe Grandee told the other troops to stay away or we force you to live with Scooby for a week😁. Great video! Take care while moving. Don't overdo. Take the time you need. 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪

I think Scooby is related to Sweetpea (when he was a yearling) of Cambodia. I swear they're both noisy. It's habitual now not for comfort or milk.

Moving is a drag. The packing and transporting is tedious, but having a new place to discover and organize is the fun part. Getting rid of old stuff helps too. Hope you enjoy your new place! Wish Dopey, Baty and Spocky were still with the troop! ;)

Scooby is a liability to troop safety. He will eventually be killed by a hungry predator or a pissed off troop member.

I think Scooby has cried for so long that it has become a habit. He doesn't appear to think about it. He may have to be shown the error of his ways before he stops it. But isn't he a cutie?

I wonder if Scooby's honking is some kind of genetic issue? I know it's behavioral, but maybe it's rooted in some kind of neurological disorder? Perhaps I'm just anthropomorphizing him, when in reality, he's just a wee bit spoiled and codependent on his Mama. I hope he works through it before age 4. Can you see him on his own? Me neither!

Scooby is reminding me of how much Tiny used to “cry” for attention. It really make one wonder about their emotional needs and how each has different wants and needs independent of how they were parented. It sure doesn’t seem to be about milk but rather comfort or perhaps some boredom.

This seems to be one of the last “unspoiled” troops. You don’t see them throwing each other under the proverbial bus for a scrap of food. The ones at the Temples just seem so mean.
