Arsenal are just absolutely awesome right now and I'm worried about them as a Liverpool fan. Though they struggled a bit earlier in the season, they've really been dominant this calendar year. The attacking style they have is suffocating. I hope they also get it together in Europe too, but I see that they are probably more concerned with getting the PL this year. I'm glad they stuck with Arteta. And honestly, they look even better than they did last season. I doubt a team like this will perform as bad as they did at the end of last season. This is the greatest PL season I've seen in the last 10 years now that it is a sure three team race. May the best team win.

Of the 24 Championship at the moment, only Milwall, Rotherham, Plymouth and Preston have never been in the Premier League. It's basically the graveyard for failed EPL teams.

But realistically, a world where all 3 newly promoted sides go down in any season (or all 3 relegated sides go up, which could also happen this season) is very depressing. I hope Luton stay up just because of that, and that someone else goes up than the relegated sides. Don't get me wrong though, Sheff Utd and Burnley deserve it. Burnley nuked their squad from last season and signed 3243 new players, freezing out many of those who actually got them there in the first place, and that's why they'll go down. As for Sheff Utd... well, they're just crap. But selling your best player certainly did not help either

Arteta is indeed a genius. Being Pep's understudy doesn't necessarily make one a great coach; the experience only equips you with coaching tools. Much like the way students study math in class. Just like every test is different and one will either fail or pass, every game is different and has its unique challenges. Case in point is Ten Haag. He was Pep's assistant at Bayern but finds it impossible to navigate the PL . Arteta has innate coaching abilities that required a little honing, then bam! the gem is polished!

I knew it sounded wild when I said it, but there was something with Arteta that told me he was world class from the get-go. I mean that literally. His first game in charge was on Boxing Day. On NYE I told my boys "I don't know if it will be at Arsenal (due to the ownership), but I genuinely believe Arteta will win a champions league in his career". I acknowledged it was wild and accepted I couldn't give eividence but I could just see it from day 1. Now, given the man probably has another 30 year career ahead, it's hard to imagine a world he doesn't win at least one... He's proven himself to a level that (in the current climate) he is almost unsackable. That might sound crazy as well, but the fact is, if Arsenal don't win the league, it is to PEP GUARDIOLA's Man City. He's the best manager in the world, hands down, AND he has a far larger budget. The only way to top him is with something we haven't already seen. A manager we haven't already seen. How do you sack Arteta, when he's proven he can compete with the best the game has ever produced, and we haven’t seen Artetas ceiling yet, for something you've never seen before I'm sure it's just social media, but if you're an Arsenal fan that still doesn't see the man''s genius, you simply can't read the game.

But it likely wouldn't, can't just say if var had existed, because you a) need to go check every result then, & how many decisions did man u always get. Bit more unpretentious, is they might not have had the drive to go on the next year & the other team likely was a touch more relaxed. Looknat 2013, the whole reason Fergus stayed another year was purely because he lost to man city, so he got rvp & went again, man city were in cruise control then because they were still living of it

I dunno, man... Arsenal are the only team to have defeated both Liverpool and City in the league. They now have added the benefits of thrashing inferior teams, rather than grinding out possessional wins (in the Prem, no disrespect to Porto). They have a psychotic +45 goal difference. Surely they've already hit the majority of their banana skins this season. City look reborn with De Bruyne back fit, and Liverpool have the momentum and the Klopp Farewell Tour mojo, but I think the tactical tweaks we've seen so far this year give Arsenal a different gravy, equally clever and physical. They're not gonna settle for third in a two-horse race.

my only issues with arteta is that he can seemingly just decide he doesnt like a player and remove them for no reason. ramsdale is obviously the biggest one, but with leno before him the same sort of thing happened and getting rid of tierney still blows my mind. i get the leno one a little bit because i think his ball play wasnt quite as good, but ramsdale is just as good if not better than raya and tierney offers such a different style of play to arsenals other options. the other one seems to have been fixed in recent weeks but i also fucking hate when he just tries to get saka and martinelli to whip balls into the box for jesus to fight someone like varane or van dijk in the air when its just clearly not going to fucking happen

So my team (Porto) beat the best team in the world, despite having a bad season (we are 3rd) and still we were able to keep Arsenal from making a shot on target... @@AJCrowley0153 I admit I missed the detail about the city being in 2023, my apologies for that oversight. However, Napoli, Lazio, and Fiorentina aren't maintaining the same standard as last year. It's illogical to rely on last season's metrics when these teams have visibly regressed. It's similar to considering teams like West Ham, who won the UEFA Conference League, and using last season's data to assess their significance, especially given how deep we are into this season. In reality, Inter should be able to defeat teams such as Lazio, Roma, Fiorentina, and Atalanta given their recent form and standings in recent years.

Lazio and Napoli may not be doing as well in the league as last year (though Napoli is resurgent with their new coach and beat Juve recently), but both made R16 in this year's CL (something half the EPLs top 4 failed to do). Lazio beat Bayern too (even if they then lost the reverse fixture) and Napoli can still knock out Barca. Roma is practically at the EL QFs already after smashing Brighton and is still competing for top 4, exactly where they were last year. Fiorentina and Atalanta are both with good chances to progress into the QFs of EL and ECL as well (with the former poised to eliminate Sporting who knocked out Arsenal last year and are having a better season than Porto, whom Arsenal lost to last week and failed to even register a shot on target against) and both are in competition for the European places in Serie A (with the later still competing for top4), exactly where they were last year. Even in vacuum that's very strong opposition. In comparison to the bottom feeders that make up Arsenal's 2024 run? It's not even a contest. Pipe down!

There are no easy wins in the premier league, it’s not that they’ve just won every game in 2024 they’ve thrashed them. West Ham are not a bad team and they lost 6-0 to this Arsenal team. I’m sure Arsenal will win the second leg against Porto. I don’t know why you are writing them off based off one game

@@orwellboy1958don't count it out. Arsenal have been great, but its been shocking opposition. Man city are strolling around, but still getting the 1-0 wins against Brentford & such. Last year they had the luxury of knowing arsenal couldn't do it as they were too young & in exp, & they played them both times late in the year thanks to Queen dying & wc, they eye clearly the better team, though arsenal did well in both games. Point is they messed around last year losing a ton, but could still do it easily, having lost to arsenal early in this year, it was a kick up the as they knew they couldn't take it as easy, & have to be on it
