On this edition of the ArsenalVision Podcast, Elliot is joined by Clive and Tim to discuss an emotional final weekend of the season. The pod covers a wide range of topics including the overall experience of the weekend and the final day at the Emirates, the game against Everton both tactically and emotionally, the post match speeches, and the lap of appreciation. There’s also the start of the long process of post-season review as well as some inquest into the way Arsenal’s second place finish is being discussed differently inside and outside of the Arsenal community. I haven't been as proud of my Arsenal team for 20 years. Wish I could thank every single one of them for giving it their all this season. Sadly though it feels like we have watched a 10 month long movie that the Villain wins at the end. On the plus side we have won a whole new generation of fans and now Arsenal is going to be one of the first teams in world football players are going to want to join. It warmed my heart last weekend when I visited a seaside town in Cornwall and I counted 8 people throughout the day wearing football shirts, 1 Valencia the rest Arsenal and most of em were youngsters.

Clive is so right about teams throwing games against city. they lack belief and don’t even try their best !

I love this club!! No depression here. We're here to compete for the foreseeable future. I didn't feel that way 3 years ago. After suffering for nearly 2 decades, I'm soooo optimistic. COYG!!!

Martinelli will have a big season next year in the sense that he will continue to progress or get left behind. Watching Martinelli at this moment reminds me of Theo Walcott, blistering pace, great dribbling but unsure of what to do with the final ball. He also seems to score goals in batches and can go missing for periods like Theo used to. Hoping he develops further but I am not sure

Our players were more gutted than I thought they would be knowing it was only a slim chance, us fans tried to cheer them up at full-time but sadly our renditions of North London Forever and the player chants didn’t seem to raise the usual smiles. The fans were very supportive and what a season we had, improvement again on last season and many records beaten but just 2 points short of getting our hands on the trophy………it will happen. So proud of the lads, manager and staff. Thanks to you all at Arsenal Vision for great company and discussions throughout the season. The future’s bright………….

I was at the live show at Ally Pally on Saturday and I started the “What do we think of Tottenham?” chant at the start of the show. You’re welcome, everyone 😉

Taken me a while to muster up the energy to watch this pod after listening to other channels and rivals spewing complete garbage for a week. This was the closure I needed. Absolutely brilliant analysis all season boys and especially this one. Can’t wait to make Rodri eat his idiotic words next season. COYG

Mikels whole team(staff, players etc) have been coached mentally to really believe, it’s why we’ve pulled the numbers we have this season. Imo they believe and want it more than us fans, but in a different way. They work their asses off the whole season, I just hope Mikel is helping them focus on enjoying the process rather than the goal(which is winning the big trophies), because in each competition every team other than the winner will lose, the players shouldn’t be down on themselves for that in the long term. Hopefully they’re focusing on their gains and growth, and keep that going consistently. I think they need the break and hopefully they come back more sharp and determined, more mature and focused to take on the 115.

Brilliant season, brilliant pod. One complaint - you guys didn't release the live event pod. I'm from Mars, didn't get a flight on time to attend it.

I definitely understand why nobody outside of Arsenal wants us to win a trophy. I want City to win the FA Cup. Nothing that City do has any meaning or value, because they've built their empire on a foundation of cheating. Its so easy to just shrug my shoulders and point to the 115 charges. And I don't want to deal with people suggesting United have had a better season than us if they win a cup.

I feel conflicted I believe we did exceptionally well in the PL but not winning any cups I don't even mean the CL but domestic cup feels disappointing.

What Pep has done in PL is almost unbelievable. Its not a team of Galactose bar Haaland who may not actually have improved them. Arsenal fans whinging is just annoying. We are City dependent. Arteta isn't this Arteta without his time there. Rodri wrong to say mentality weak at Emptyhad, butbot was weak against Band Villa when needed to respond, but overall we over achieved.

Tim's point about Villa playing reserves against Man City is so wrong it's laughable. Watkins missed the game through injury and Martinez got injured in the warm up. The rest of the team that played also played against arsenal and we also benefitted from Luiz being suspended. Stop taking your frustrations out on Villa because we were cowards in the 2nd half against them

25 or not if you go to the dentist and the dentist makes one imperfect repair how is that any less acceptable than a football player making a tackle that’s not perfect. I expect immaculate performances at each game I attend for this very same reason
