It's actually really clear and obvious what the change has been since Brentford. Ten Hag has dropped Maguire and Shaw and trusted his own signings. He's also done the right thing by keeping Ronaldo at arms length. Gary Neville can't admit that because they're english and Ronaldo is, well, Ronaldo.

Dropping Maguire & Shaw is what happened Gary lol. Those two were liabilities. Shaw in particular was very slow getting back. They knew they were first choice & took that for granted. The likes of Martinez & Malacia put a shift in every game

The difference is malacia and Martinez, varane and dalot. They play for each other, they high five every single tackle/block/interception. I don’t see maguire or shaw/ AWB making their way back into this team. The players from midfield onward have finally started to feel some kind of confidence in the players behind them! That is the difference so far, and long may that last, the one touch football on display from United at at times been world class, I think if we can continue to produce that kind of display, we can definitely challenge top 3 this year. On a side not I can’t give enough respect to ronaldo for all the aggro he has received this season, arguably one of the worlds best player for years, the media have wanted to drag him out these last couple of weeks, but he has proven once again that he is a team player and celebrates his teams mates goals from a subs bench as tho he was on the pitch, it would be a shame if he ended his legacy at United by letting the media/rival fans get into his head. The changes since Brentford has been Martinez and Ten Hag’s learning from his mistakes. Ten Hag has stopped playing from the back and scrapped any high possession, hard pressing style. United play a passive positional press now. Ten Hag amen his staff have the players positioning right by blocking the passing lanes and pressuring the ball after. He’s made tactical changes and he’s Mande Managerial changes by dropping Maguire and Shaw and establishing a Rotation that includes Fred and Ronaldo. And as for Martinez, I can’t say enough. He’s brought back the fight for the back four. It’s Martinez that is talking and high fixing good plays from the back four and of course he’s playing quality ball. I think we saw both teams frailties yesterday. United were the better team for the first 10-12 mins but bottled it after the disallowed goal when they realised Arsenal could hurt them. Arsenal then dominated till United’s second goal but didn’t really create much. Then the substitution were made and you saw how much strong United’s bench was and how many more tactical options they had. United’s mentality will hold them back as teams like Liverpool and City don’t care if you score as they always believe they’ll score more. Arsenal will always struggle unless the build more strength in depth and become much more clinical in front of goal.

First of all it was a fantastic game to watch, all credit to the players and premier league. The change in mu is that they have got a hands on manager who is made of stern stuff. Secondly we have got rid of a lot of sub standard players, the last two being Shaw and McGuire.

Its simple mate: 1) drop maguire, shaw, breakup mcfred 2) build from a solid defensive pairing 3) have players that play their heart out for u 4) have a squad of players on the bench that can easily replace u if u fail to perform

Maguire out made a huge difference, the defence looks like a mini-team now working together, instead of an error-prone lieutenant trying to dominate. Eriksen replacing Fred has given the midfield more quality and guile. Sancho and rashford are looking more focused, and malacia has added real tenacity at left back. Ronnie is what he should be - a high quality substitute.

Everybody talks about Eriksen but I feel we need to The talk about Mctominay. He's been a beast in the last two matches. So many headers, interceptions, blocks and clearances! He's been pure class

The best thing about this win....well 2 or 3 things actually is firstly, if this was last season, Utd were losing that game hands down, just like the Liverpool game last week and possibly even the Soton game. Also, this just shows that Maguire is not needed at all. If Ten Hag signs a new CB in January he can let Maguire go. They’re defending better, getting men in their own box when the opposition is trying to break them down. Using rashford to counter attack. It’s pretty basic stuff tbh, park the bus and rely on good defenders and a fast forward.

Ten Hag knows what is he doing. Putting the best performing players line up in the team. Will take drastic measures to bench the players not perform to his expectations ! So far he play the players in right positions and they have done well. As United fan, even tho Martinez and the rest of the signings have been great, for me our signing of the summer is Eriksen, the way he passes, his vision, the way he is so calmed under pressure is incredible, he has been what we hoped Pogba to be (I mean, he could be like this in some games, but then dissapeared the rest of the season or he was injured in Dubai or Miami)

i can tell you what happened. the team feels much more confident with the back 4 united have now. varane and martinez are not only a fantastic defensive pairing, they are vocal leaders. malacia leading by example. its rubbed off massively on dalot. that is an extremely solid back 4 who work hard for each other. and that makes everyone in front of them feel more confident and focus on attacking.
