I'm not a big fan of Bruno - anymore - I liked him at first at Newcastle, I live up here and watch their matches more than I would otherwise, but now my opinion is while I think he certainly has a lot of talent and Arteta could make that talent work wonders, I think his on-field personality is a liability as he relies a lot on physicality. Newcastle players are encouraged to "show pashun" but him and Joelinton really do stand out pushing the boundries, and Bruno has definitely lost his head multiple times the last couple of seasons since arriving. Within our team, his behaviour may stand out and give officials the opportunity to give red cards in an Arsenal shirt, likewise if he can't keep composed in important matches his performance drops and I think we've generally got a better mentality than that at present. Within the Arsenal team and during key high pressure matches I'm not convinced he can keep his head and a lot of his 'dark yellows' will quickly turn into bright reds. If Arteta and Edu were to go ahead, I wouldn't be upset and I'd like to be proved wrong, but his temprement and mentality would be my initial worry.

With the high line that Spuds always play, it is a no brainer that Partey should start. His quick thinking and fast forward passes will work well for us on the counter.

Hard no for me on Bruno. Despite absolutely being a force to be reckoned with, I just feel that in terms of class and integrity - he won't be a good fit on the training ground culturally speaking. You could argue that Havertz and White stretch the whole idea of Arsenal being a classy club with some of their antics, but by and large, we're undoubtedly a team of gentleman.

Also, I would love to see a really good striker come in as we've been lacking in that department for some time now. Imagine ending the transfer season with additions like Zubimendi/De Jong, Onana in midfield, a defender, a winger and out and out No9 profile, I would consider it an absolute win. Sam.

Hi Charles, I say for Bruno it depends on outgoings. We have quite a stacked midfield as it is but there are questions on ESR/Jorgi/Elneny/Partey. If we can generate transfers for 2-3 of those I think that it is a good move. I would love to see Bruno. He is premier league proven, experienced with at least 4-5 years and versatile

The issue is that with Jorgi's contract running out this year or next and Partey's running out next year, we can't bed in two mids at the same season. I say offer Jorgi a two year contract, kick the can down the road.. get a Left CM this season and see how Partey does next season. Unless we can get the players we actually want and need in as a striker or midfielder, I think we are past the stage of just getting players in to make up the numbers.

Pacqueta and Isak would be a dream for me. We need variety in our attack and our right side has been overused this season compared to last. Pacqueta helps resolve that. Hey Charles! I am a big fan of Fernandes. I think he would be a great move. I also think we need a striker and another option in defence is probably needed if the duo get injured. Interested to know who you think we will sell! The revenue from Champions' League and everything will allow at least one major major marquee signing. On a personal front I would much rather an all-out beast striker and through everything at that. Then we still have ESR and Vieira who can play wing but also what players do we use to level-up for? This is the next step and it's about to get very very expensive for this.

Hi Charles, for me, a long term #6 is needed this summer. Partey looked great against Chelsea, but we all know we can’t rely on him for a full season. Jorginho has played well at times in the 6, but he’s not the long term answer. If we bring in an elite #6 to pair with Declan & Odegaard, our midfield 3 could be the best in Europe for the next 5+ years.

I know it has divided opinion massively amongst the fanbase, but I would take Bruno Guimaraes in a heartbeat, he could solve so many problems for us. Yes he comes with baggage, but I feel the talent outweighs the rest. Also to have a player like that in your team, as opposed to being on the other team, is a game-changer.

I was worried before we played Wolves and then Chelsea and the team has been brilliant. I trust that they have the resilience, mindset and skill set to beat Spurs. Not playing for 2 weeks can lead to lethargy . We fight till the end. COYG

I think Trossard needs to continue purely due to form, however I understand the reasoning for Martinelli due to Spurs high line and potentially the absences of Porro and Udogie. Regarding CM I think after that performance against Cheslea, Partey has to start depending on his recovery. However, Spurs' midfield will be far better than Chelsea's I feel

Or is Mikel a more desirable manager to play for because of the rebuilding of recent players like Havertz, Ramsdale, Trossard, Jorginho who weren’t struggling but had a downward trend and image at their clubs and/or amongst the fan base and went on to have very strong and lengthy periods of form. Or maybe it really doesn’t matter and wages and champions league will always be the first consideration?

Hi Charles. Our best midfield combo is clearly Partey Rice and Odegaard and they must start the remaining games of the season. On the Guimaraes link, i think if we can keep Partey and Jorginho for one more season then we can wait to summer 2025 to sign a midfielder. I think we should prioritise a natural goalscoring striker and a right winger since Arteta doesnt trust Reiss Nelson. Take that same 100 mil plus another 20 mil in addons and tempt newcastle into selling Isak or pay Osimhen's release clause of 120 mil. Sign Raya permanently, sell Ramsdale and get a backup keeper and with Timber back we are covered in defence. By keeping the midfield together and the additions of a striker and right winger we will have a very strong squad for next season

I'm not big fan of Bruno this season. Last year he was brilliant but for a 100 mil. I think Dougie Luiz at Villa or Frankie at Barca are better options for probably similar prices. I think the 6 or left 8 role is more important than an attacker for the summer. Some one who can cut the lines from deep like what Partey does. Anyone we buy for the attack can't guarantee to be a game changer, especially in the controlled system we play. Young Nwaneri could easily be the game changer you're looking for next season. Following the likes of Cole Palmer for Chelsea or when Anthony Gordon was at Everton.

I don’t think 4th is over for Spurs. They’re 6pts away with 2 games in hand. That + killing our title hopes is more than enough motivation. They need the win just as much as we do. As for our title chances, I still believe we blew it vs Aston Villa. You don’t put it in City’s hands this late in the season. You have to be ruthless! Once it’s in your hands, you grab and kill it. This would be their 6th title in 7 seasons - they lost to a ruthless Liverpool who had their best ever finish (99pts). Thats what it takes vs Pep. Anyway, anything can happen in football (and I pray something does), but with City it’s unlikely.

In my opinion I think that Partey should go because although he's a great player, his injury problems hamper his availability for most of the season and there is a worry that he will repeat this trend moving forward through no fault of his own. Keep up the good work and try not to worry too much about Sunday. Bring it on I say!!! We are in a much better position than we have been in the past going into the derby.

I found the £100m price tag of Rice easy to justify last Summer. I'm finding it very hard to justify similar money for Bruno Guimaraes

We really have to level up our player sales game this summer. I see a potential £120mil in sales to add to the CL money to really strengthen the team and be truly formidable. Right away Bruno would be our hardest, nasties player, which is something The Arsenal has been lacking for quite some time. The Arsenal is packed with too many nice guys.

Momentum through continuity. And dare I say it, when our lead is comfortable enough - get’ahead and make the same substitutions once more.

Charles, we look so incredibly strong both offensively and defensively with Rice at the 8. Partey/Jorghino have 1 more year, if that. 100 million pounds feels too much though for Bruno. He's not Declan Rice and I refuse to come that close to a Declan Rice fee. But I would bid for him in the 80-85 million range. Newcastle need money this summer and if no one else comes in for him that might be enough. If Man City are ready to pay 100 million, fine at least you created a market forcing Man City to pay the full 100 million. The worst possible outcome is Man City get him for less than the release clause. Whatever the Prem are ready to sweep under the rug from the past, now they seem more serious about financial fair play moving forward.

I think spending a 100M on one player again would seem too much for me though if there's no issue with FFP and we can offload some and get more money it would be doable. However, I think the person that strikes me more is Luiz ... I think he offers a lot more than Bruno he's good in set pieces and also physical can shoot well... He should cost Arsenal not more than a 60-70M

My number nine would probably have to be someone who can switch out wide as well and so I’m leaning towards Zirkzee over even Gyokeres.
