I’m gonna be honest Charles, you’re probably my favourite Arsenal correspondent. I watch every single one of your videos the whole way through and have done for years. I think you are selling yourself short. More lives to let people make superchats and maybe make a patreon for more content. I know it’s not just about money but make the most out of the years of hard work you have put in to be this valuable. Thanks!

Saliba is actually ridiculous (as is Gabriel). There have been so many times this season where he's being closed down and it looks like he'll almost definitely lose the ball but he somehow makes the right pass or takes an extra touch and plays himself out of trouble. His composure needs to be studied. Spent so many seasons being scarred by bozo moments. Even if he does provide them going ahead, he's got enough credit to be forgiven instantly. As has Raya, made the mistake and was immense on every single cross into the box. Commands his area brilliantly. Love these players

Hi Charles, I have to say I’m so so happy with Havertz. As Americans say, the most important ability is availability and not only is Kai always fit & but he’s always full of energy. I remember when we bought him & the media were baffled in what Arteta saw, that Julien Laurens - himself an Arsenal fan - noted that he led the league in runs in behind when he was at Chelsea and was one of the best at Aerial duels + Pressing. Fast forward to regular starts up front for us and you can see his game intelligence in his runs, be they in behind to give options / create space, or dropping deep to break opposition presses and create chances for others. Whilst he needs to work on his 1-on-1 finishing (that Chelsea goal was great to see), it’s increasingly apparent that he’s our Thomas Müller: excellent general play and deceptively good at poaching unflashy goals in the 6 yard box. Add in his shithousing and Bergkamp-like unexpected niggliness for a technical player and he’s got Club Legend written all over him. Lastly, I think his environment inside + outside the club is playing a major role in him starting to realise his potential: he has a manager who believed in him more than previous coaches, fans + the media and stuck with him despite his indifferent start to the season, he’s won the fans over big time since and if you follow his misses on Instagram you’ll see that they socialise a lot with Odegaard, Trossard, White + Saka so they’re tight off the pitch too. Think our focus should be midfield.

I honestly can`t believe what Havertz is producing at the moment. At the beginning of the season there were tries to hype up is off the ball play and some actions ...and I hoped he will turn it someway around but this ... He wins headers, plays good passes, runs into space AND gets the output .... Imagine this Havertz for a whole season (!) ...I don`t know if we really need a striker then or if a fast winger would be more called for

Havertz is going beyond just 'getting better' now, his form is incredible atm , 18 G/A while playing multiple roles and hes still young. Hi Charles, regular watcher here! Your spot on all the points, as usual, especially acknowledging and mentioning the part about Kai, how hes so crucial to our team at the final stage of the season. However, I respectfully disagree with the Raya’s rating. I think the 5 you gave him initially was very kind. He was exceptionally after the error, so commanding. Great response, but that error lead Spurs comeback into the game. That error put so much pressure on the team, as the last 20mins showcased. Top performance from the boys but I would give Raya a 4 for. Hopefully he can still get the golden glove. Cheers Charles

🔴 Signing a 30 goal striker could take away the impact of our wide men and the synergy between them and havertz. Havertz has played 9 games up front scoring 7 goals and 5 assists. He has also had an impact in the big games this season like the city game when he came off the bench and also the game against liverpool. Chelsea and Bayern for the saka assist and also was instrumental in that missed Ben white chance against Bayern. He is a key player for us. He links well with all of our front players. He will only get better as this is his first season and is only 24. I think the focus shoild be signing a player who has blistering pace across the front line. A player who can play Ideally right or left wing. This is where we are lacking and need to add in my view. No need to spend 100m on isak for example. 🔴
@charles9489
@charles9489 Ай бұрын
Bro that opinion makes no sense, a 30 goal a year striker will only elevate the our players. What u are saying is a fallacy. Kai can't play all the games he can be a rotation option for the main striker, simple.
@naseibonsu8120
@naseibonsu8120 Ай бұрын
@@charles9489 Not necessarily. I disagree. A 30 goal season striker depending on his attributes could very much hinder the way we play. We had that in aubameyang before lol Why do we need a 30 goal a season striker? Because city have one? Lol this type of thinking is flawed. Basically just copy city!! No! Jesus will be rotated with kai. Trossard can also play there, which I would argue is his best position. A wide forward with pace is needed. The profile shouldn't be 30 goal a season striker because the reality is, that type of striker is rare on the market. If you disagree then please Name names of this striker that you're referring to. I'll wait.

@@naseibonsu8120 firstly football doesn't revolve around city, secondly city is merely following a tried a tested method of the top goal scorer in the league usually wins the title. To extrapolate on the above paragraph's point, usually the team that has a player in the top 3 in scoring are the ones most likely to win a title. I'm disagreeing with ur point on principle, no way a "30 goal a year striker" doesn't elevate the team, doesn't even have to be a striker, no player that scores 30 goals in a season diminishes anyone in his team. Plus this 30 goal a year striker is hyperbole, all u need is a 20+ goals year striker.
@naseibonsu8120
@naseibonsu8120 Ай бұрын
@@charles9489 No It doesn't have to be a striker. Hence why I mentioned the profile of player needed But Charles keeps mentioning a "STRIKER that gets you 25 plus goals" history tells you that you don't need that to win a title. Its a fact. You don't even need 20 plus goals striker to win a title its a fact. History tells you that. As long as the goals are spread across your front line you can win games and titles. This whole idea came about simply because of Haaland. The reality is that the league winners don't need that to win a title from one player. History also tells you that. We have to mention city because they have dominated the league for the last 8 years - that is a fact. May I also add that they have won more titles without a "striker" than with one. All FACTS!! Not to mention I've heard Charles watts saying Arsenal should break the bank for ivan toney which is laughable. He also mentioned spending a 100m on isak which is also laughable. Pure nonsense.

@@naseibonsu8120 every team has its own missing piece and ours currently is that of a striker (a top one), and nothing is wrong with memtioning that. Secondly ur point about city is wrong, seems you've forgotten about Sergio Aguero? The first title city win was because of the clutch performances of the striker(Aguero), when Aguero left pep tried to break the bank for Kane now he has halland. Sir Alex had berbatov and traded him for van persie cause he wanted to win the title. Don't trick urself, a top striker is the cornerstone of every great dynasty that has existed in football.

With the return of Partey, TP passes to Saka longish ball, before opposition has had a chance to double on him.. Return of TP has also quickened our tempo..passes to front played quicker before opposition settled in defensive formation I wonder if Arteta could have taken a gamble v Villa and played TP..pull him off just after half time I hope we keep him next season. let Jorginho go..We can play Rice in absence of TP..then Zinny/Rowe on the left 8. Hey Charles, I think the Spuds deserve a lot of credit for how we played that first half yesterday. First 20 mins they didn't give our defense a second on the ball, trying to force errors but that forced us to sit in and catch them on the counter for the two goals... 2nd half was just, they couldn't get through us and we couldn't break on the counter. I was wishing the one or two times Havertz got out that it was Martineli instead just for the pace but a really good game to watch and to give Reya a bit of a break. Any keeper would be thrown off by Romero coming up for CB to press you. "Is that Romero" was definitely his last thought before he gave him the ball. 😂

There's a difference between losing the ball as a striker & a goalkeeper losing the ball/making an error seeing as a goalkeeper's error probably leads to a goal.

I have no problem with Rice's error. If Raya doesn't put us under pressure then Rice probably doesn't have to make that challenge.

I think 5 for Raya was fair. I agree other than the mistake he had a good game, but that mistake changed the whole trajectory of the game. We very much could have drew a game that was won at 3-0 off the back of that mistake. That has to be taken into consideration. COYG!

I think you've been very generous to Odegaard. I thought he was dreadful by his recent standard. He was very poor on the ball and made some awful passes.

Hi Charles. Is it not hugely arrogant of us to think that Spurs players and fans would go into the City game putting our failure ahead of their success. If they need points in that game to get UCL, they will absolutely be focused on that above what that might mean for Arsenal. They won’t even have any more games to catch up with Villa after that one so it will be massive for them. John.

Hi Charles ! Do you think that, given Havertz's performances as a striker might reshape Arteta and Edu's plans for the summer ? I'm convinced they will go all in for a top class striker, but where would that leave Jesus ? I think there is an opportunity to push Jesus on the right wing where he could be a great back-up for Saka. That would leave us with two very good options on the right and up front, and could save a lot of cash to get one or two top class midfielders ! What are your thoughts ?

I think we have to root for Spurs to be in the hunt for top four in the final week when they have the make up match with Man City. Right now they are 7 back of Villa but with 2 games at hand. But they have a tough schedule upcoming.

North London is red. Not a great game football wise for us but 3 points at this stage of the season to the London trumpeters was epic. I think however Ange is going to take the city game seriously though. His pre NLD interview suggests that Spuds should be concentrating more on where they finish in the league rather than spend time preoccupied on their more illustrious neighbors. Just something to think of as we approach these final couple games

Spurs has been a bogey team at times for Man City. However, can't see Spurs doing us any favours. Despite what Ange says, those players will roll over for City as they'd never want to be responsible for us winning the league. Chris Wood showed us yesterday that professionalism can be compromised.

I think City are going to drop point in the unlikeliest of places. I also noticed all through the season, Arsenal has won more games than City, that's a very high standards for next season. Might just get over the 90 points mark.
