Not sure if anyone else has said this, but I think it is time to acknowledge that Stephen in a national treasure. I know they come from different backgrounds, but I see Stephen as the Swedish version of David Fletcher. A man that is filled with a wealth of knowledge that he is sharing with the world about his nations place in the tank industry. Please keep up the excellent work.

Absolutely spot on. Stefan was fantastic on the Bovington channel, and it was only a drop in the ocean of how entertaining and knowledgeable he is. A shame more people haven't subscribed to enjoy learning about Swedish armour.

The personal connection with that little tank and the stories about it, made the series. Having a custom tool you made yourself for maintenance, shows a real fondness the vehicle. It looked absolutely fun to drive. Hugely underrated channel.

It's kind of amazing to see the shafts spinning like that in the open compartment, it's like a giant scary lathe... you wouldn't want to touch them :O

Older Volvo's also had this slightly military feel to them, like "Suggan" ("the Sow"). This is what the Volvo Suggan looked like: sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiopersonterr%C3%A4ngbil_915#/media/Fil:Radioterr%C3%A4ngbil_915_Revinge_2016.jpg

Thanks for the awesome video! I love that you did all of this for history. May I ask that you turn on CC options for those like me who are hard of hearing or deaf? KZfaq does it automatically but the creator channel needs to turn it on first on the video.

I know how much fun it is to drive a tracked vehicle. The power and the all-terrain capability, but that spinning drive shaft right next to you, would make it uncomfortable for me... . (I drove the M113 - fully automatic transmission)

Is it a matter of the camera angle, or is the wide end of the exposed drive shaft only a couple centimeters away from the left steering tiller? What is the duct tape on the driveshaft for?
@stefankarlsson9762
@stefankarlsson9762 3 жыл бұрын
It is not much space, but camera angle makes it look even closer. The duct tape was for keeping the grease from the prop shaft connection not filling the tank with grease splash. We put in a bit too much grease and since the cover was not installed directly the grease spread ;-)

OK... Driving this tank looks more like fighting for your life, than pleasant trip. Unprotected revolving parts waiting for crushing your leg or arm, steering sticks far beyond reach and visibility like in submerged submarine in the fog. Small tank, for real men!
