It should have been a draw. Those 2 knock downs were not precise knock down. Carlos Takam deserves credit as he refused to be beaten. One of the best fights so far.

@@SychoSam he would be outclassed if he fought any top fighter. He has a strong, slow, inaccurate punch. We don't know too much about his chin, because he has never fought anyone good enough to test it. He doesn't really have the potential to become a B level fighter. He is more akin to someone like Ajagba, imo.

Carlos Takam is a boxer of the French school originally from Cameroon, he was born in 1980 so today he is 41 years old. He has a respectable career, he played 47 fights getting 39 victories including 28 KOs. Arslanbek Makhmudov took as many slaps as he had never taken in his life. His managers, unable to continue organizing easy easy matches, had to reluctantly put their protégé to the test, putting him to the test against a 41-year-old boxer still physically and technically intact, Carlos Takam came down from the ring to the applause of the present audience, basically we attended a boxing lesson, a discipline that Makhmudov knows very little but I think that the Lectio Magistralis held by prof. Takam has served both the modest Makhmudov and his managers who have finally touched the current limits of their pupil, it is their job to take him to the high schools of great boxing.

Такам проиграл только из-за двух нокдаунов, хотя ничья была бы более справедливым итогом. Большинство раундов выиграл Такам. Махмудов прямолинеен, защита ужасная, равно как и тайминг. Вряд ли ему что-то светит против таких нокаутеров как Уайлдер. Ему повезло, что у Такама просто нет нокаутирующего удара.

Literally 2, 10-8 rounds might gave the big influenced to the Judges.. They both landed many significant Punches.. Its safe to say not a bad result by the way.. If Takam atleast got the One 10-8 round he should have won the match.. Not a robbery result, the fight could go either way for both at the end of the day..

His Good day and bad day is so much difference and when he fought the better Elite Fighter he step up and really fought well, and many people think that hee is the worthy of Champions but when he fought much lower ranking he fought really bad and even got loss against unknown boxer/Bums.. His performances is inconsistent, if he can fought consistently from the start if his career he should have been the great Champions and he would be future a Hall of famer..

Whaooo!!!! I'm just stumbling on this. What a brutal ferocious exchange of hard hitting fire-power on display here. Makhmudov was obviously the better skilled but you gotta give it to Takam for his resilience and overly positive vibe to the end. What a match and what a deserving rematch it's gonna be.

Takam is better than decent. AM's defense is lacking but he's got a chin. To your point, unless he tightens up his D, he will eventually get caught and laid out. Say if and when he meets a Wilder or even a Fury. Would be great fights.

Takam is still very good!Makmudov has potential but needs better trainers to teach him defense,head movement and proper technique to punch!He has power but does not know how to deliver it to full effect and he needs to have better punch combinatioms and stop throwing only clubbing punches!He is big ,strong and has a lot of potential though!Goodluck to him!

Arslanbek just needs to work a bit more on his defence and trying to box a little more instead of always thinking he’s going to knock the opponent out by taking their head off. Will be interesting to see him in a year or two. Good win still and definitely has power!!

А на счет того, что никто не знает, да ты прав, никто не знает чем и как закончится бой. Поэтому бокс так интересен. Я имел ввиду, что если бы он столько пропускал от Руиса, как от Такама, я уже не говорю о Уайлдере или Джошуа, да и о том же Джо Джойсе, то было бы очень тяжело.

Стиль бокса не тот, поэтому маленький Такам создал проблемы. Передвигаешья грузно, джеба левой нет совсем, идешь вперед без удара , не уходишь с линии атаки, не выдергиваешь соперника, навыки в защите не на уровне. Такам смотрелся гораздо интересней. С таким навыками лидеров, чемпионов не победить.

While still an obvious completely raw talent Makhmudovs strength appeared to carry him here. But at this stage of a late career he does seem to lack so many fundamentals which will prove disastrous as the quality of his opponents increase. He must learn to work off a stiffer jab and a little more side to side defensive movement will protect him from an overhand right, since he's completely vulnerable to a right counter when attempting to bull rush his opponents. Supreme strength within this sport while important, will not entirely win the day; he has a long way to go in a career that does not favor age.

This Makhmudov seems to be grossly overhyped. Takam is a warrior, and with those punches thrown by Takam, Makhmudov would have gone down if Takam was such a power puncher. The second knockdown wasn't legitimate as Takam was hit at the back of the head.

Russian boxer is little more than a big right hand punch. Defence is terrible, slow in his feet, constantly leaning on his opponents to the extent that he is almost (and sometimes is) diving over them - he should've had points taken from him for this.
