CCSD93’s middle schools offer What I Need Now (WINN) classes for all students, designed to be unique and engaging courses that are aligned to learning standards and offer broader exposure to real-life applications of academic subjects.
At Jay Stream, students in the Forensic Arson class learn about the complex nature of arson investigation. In it, groups of students create a structure, then our partners at the Carol Stream Fire Department set fire to it, and the students observe the behavior of the structure as it burns. Today, Fire Chief Schultz and his company stopped in to lend their expertise to the class!
