'Arsouille, sporty driving of motorcyclists on the road', is the centrepiece of my diploma project. Through this work, I focus on a practice from which a large number of notions relevant to the development of a design project emanate.
As early as 1950, the motorcycle emerged as a symbol of counterculture in the United States. Over time, its connection to protest movements disappeared, but it has never ceased to be a singular culture. Although speed is an important notion in the development of the project, it also focuses on the anthropology of the biker, his motivations, his perception of risk, his choice of freedom as well as his identity (graphics, clothing and values), an essential element which roots him within a 'marginalized' community.
Being a designer in a mediator position is the role I have given myself. Therefore, my project is designed to be informative, immersive and sensorial. The project is aimed at everyone and is capable of raising awareness among different personalities, since it combines culture, tradition and transmission with technology, innovation and hybridity. Thus, it is a project testifying to an epic practice, based on a Homeric identity, capable of being also emphatic.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
