I had an Eskimo roommate in College from Unalaklet Alaska. He was sent by Bureau of Indian Affair.

I was born in Alaska, but my grandmother was from Igloolik, and many relatives still live in northern Canada, we are restricted by westerners from seeing them because we are told that we need government permission.

It's the 'chewing' that breaks and softens the structure of the skin.
