Anyway, today's card is all about the Woodland Tree Cubbies project set from Art Impressions. I love all of those little doors and windows with the critters sticking out! So cute!

I agree, as a nurse in the operating room. Being able to let everything at work go, just be in my own headspace, and not have to think so much really helps me relieve stress and bring happiness to others is a win win!

Hello Kristina. I have enjoyed watching this video in particular because I appreciate it when you chat with us, even though we can’t immediately answer of course, but it’s wonderful none the less. I have been crafting since I was a little kid. Mostly because I have a very gifted and talented Mother. She taught me so much about crafting and expressing my creativity. I have been crafting really all my life and got into card making about 12-13 years ago. I have six boys and crafting has helped me deal with stress, given me a creative outlet, given me the opportunity to make gifts for my family, and helped me deal with family tragedies. Kristina, Crafting is so relaxing, either to watch or to actually do. I try to watch yours or Jennifer's (McGuire) videos right before I go to bed because it is so relaxing or distressing if you will. And while I'm not even ¼ as talented as you, I am in my own mind! lol. My family and friends that receive cards I make truly are thankful that I remember them in that way. I even have people who want to know how they can display all the cards I send them. I am truly overwhelmed by those feelings that those peoples remarks evoke. Thank you for doing what you do and lifting people's spirits every day.

I agree with you, it's the making that brings me joy. I like cardmaking because I get all the joy of the making, but then I can release my project into the world LOL. What I mean is that I get the fun and then don't have to hold onto my finished project if I don't want to. And even if I do, cards are relatively small and don't take up that much room. I always say, everyone needs a hobby! And I'm grateful for the friends this hobby has brought into my life.

You are right on all counts, art is therapeutic, challenging and so much fun. I send out over 150 birthday and Christmas cards to family, to others for special occasions and to nursing homes for Valentine's day and Easter and I love making them and sharing them! When thanked for a card I tell people it is my selfish hobby because it is so much fun to create a special one of a kind card to give and I always pray they get enjoyment from it as well. I held my breath when you started talking because I was afraid you were off on an adventure that meant you were leaving us!!! I consider you one of my art therapists!!!

I loved watching your talented self do what you do, making this card look so easy to do. You have a real talent and are a pleasure to observe in action. I just wanted to say that since watching your video I actually haven’t been able to stop thinking about WHY I make cards...and yes I love handmade kindness, paper hugs, but it’s absolutely about the joy and fun of creating for me too. I do find watching card making videos very relaxing . And making cards, scrapbooking, or designing spreads in my planner are most definitely my creative outlet. I just love how people have come together in the craft world. I get together each week with my crafty friends and we have a great time. We support each other not only in our crafts but also in our daily life. I wanted to also thank you for frequently demonstrating cheaper products. I love trying new things and if I can try a technique with a cheaper product I’m more inclined to do so.

I've always been crafty but discovered card making about six years ago. Before that I was into scrapbooking but once my grandchildren were grown I didn't have as much to scrapbook about. Card making uses all the same tools and gives me so much joy and people seem to appreciate getting my cards. I spend a lot of time watching tutorials on KZfaq and you and Jennifer are my favorites. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents with all of us. I've learned so much. My other passion is baking but cardmaking is a lot less fattening. LOL. BTW, this card is absolutely adorable. Love it.

Kristina, I have always been a crafter. I sew, crochet, garden, scrapbook and card make. Crafting has been so therapeutic for me over the years, but even more so over the past couple of years. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. During my treatment, I was unable to craft. However, as soon as I was able I began crafting again. It has been a lifesaver. Card making especially has been so relaxing. I have watched your videos and it gave me ideas on how to watercolor, and for that I thank you.

I always enjoy watching your videos because I always learn something from them. Your comments about crafting and creativity really resonated with me. I’m not particularly artistic, but I do enjoy creating things. Card making is great because I can tailor each card for the recipient. My friends and family always appreciate the amount of thought I put into the cards I make. One friend loves red, so I always try to make it the dominant color for her cards. My sister and niece use my holiday cards as decor year after year. Crafting is such a wonderful way to express myself and at the same time make the recipients feel special. Thanks for always being a great source of inspiration.

Thanks for your insight today on your love of what you do. It made me reflect on what I ended up doing now. As a retired teacher, I spent more and more time on my crafting. And buying more and more stamps, dies, ribbons, etc.,etc. So I decided that I needed to share all of this stuff in order to justify all that spending to myself. So now I teach paper crafting classes (as a volunteer) at the Golden Gate Senior Center in San Francisco. My students tell me all the time how important this class is to them. You're right. We all need that creative outlet to make our lives complete. Thank you so very much for your videos - I use your ideas often in my classes!

So adorable. I've always like to make things but not just to please myself so I have to give the things I make away. But I realize I do it because I enjoy it -- and it increases the pleasure to be able to give. The fact that here are stamps and videos has meant that even without the ability to draw or be any kind of artist I can use my good "eye" and willingness to learn to make pretty little tags and some sweet small gift cards to use or give others and to donate for charities to sell. It's been a God send at many difficult times in my life, as well. Grateful to you and your sisterhood for all you have done for all of us who love to create but lack your talent.

First off, your love for art shows in your work. I don't miss a video you post on You Tube. I think your videos are very inspirational. This one in particular hit home with me because, I too, love working with my hands. I tried my talent at needle work for quite a while then I moved over to jewelry making and now cardmaking. I am in the very early stages teaching myself by watching You Tube videos and reading blogs on cardmaking. I think the most challenging aspect of it is "gathering" endless supplies, it seems, to get set up. Whew! Decision, decision...lol. I know that one day I will enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed my past hobbies. As always, thanks, Kristina, for sharing your beautiful work.. ; )

Hi Kristina, I am just in love with your card and all the detail in the stamp itself. I, too,, like you, love creating, but never had much time. However when I was in my mid-sixties, I had a series of surgeries and was laid-up a bit. My hubby suggested that I try doing something artistic since I always wanted to take art lessons. Well this is where you and Jennifer McGuire, Gina K and a few others came in. Watching you and learning from you has given me a wonderful lift and a sense of empowerment when creating. Thanks for the joy.

Thank you for sharing this very special part of your thoughts. I have been crafting with my hands ever since I can remember. At times I became too busy but returned to one thing or another in very short order. I find that watching the crafting videos and working on my own pieces to VERY therapeutic for me. I haven't attempted cards (yet) but I work in acrylics and watercolors. I find your work inspirational and bookmark every one I view. Art has been a form of therapy for thousands of people across the centuries. For me, it serves as an outlet, has a calming effect and allows me to express myself without restrictions. Thank you for all you do, all your inspiration, and for being a part of so many lives with each post.

I have a chronic illness and I'm home a lot, and I would get total cabin fever if not for the escape that is paper crafting! Donating and giving away my art is the icing on the cake. I so appreciate all of your videos, and the efforts of all crafters on KZfaq, because the videos are so relaxing and inspiring and take me out of my limited world for a while.

I was an artist before I could write! My mother always said she knew what the Sunday morning sermon was about by looking at my drawings. I can still interpret words into pictures with relative ease. I only started more crafting stuff (than just drawing and painting) a few years ago. I love it! I fight extreme insomnia at times (it's a weird genetic thing in my family that goes back generations), so art and crafty helps to ease the annoyance and calm me down. Even my husband recognizes it's benefits, and will tell me, "You should go make something. I might help you sleep." Artwork and crafting are definitely therapeutic for me! In fact, our local news had a story a while back about some elderly folks in a nursing home who were able to "reconnect" with those around them through arts and crafts. It taps into that creative side of the brain and "wakes" them up. Just like music does. I often listen to music while I create. Double therapy! Music, arts, and crafts are my JAM!! And then there's my kitties... my "snoop-purr-visors"! LOVE this card you made! SO cute!!!! Thanks for sharing some of your heart whilst sharing your talent!

I so relate to you about crafting gratification. I love the process of making a small treasure as much as the end product that I can share! I have applied tips, techniques and lessons from Art School to the benefit of my children, employeers and other hobbies over many years. Crafting truly is my passion and I am thankful we have so many avenues to express it through, so many inspiring teachers, a nurturing culture of friends and an ever changing possibilities. I absolutely agree that crafting or watching crafting videos is a great way to destress. I like to watch videos after I get home from work before making dinner as a little “me time” break. I also like to watch them before going to sleep to relax and quiet my mind. I used to have trouble getting to sleep because I would be thinking about everything that happened during the day or what I have to get done, but now I just relax with a video and fall asleep easily.

I think I watch more videos than I do creating, but they are therapeutic. I don’t think I’ve ever thought of it that way, but it is! I’ve created everything from ceramics to macrame to wedding cakes to card making (and more in between!). I love to create things, and I really do love this craft and the people I’ve met in person and online. Thanks for making these videos for all of us (and you I believe!). Love this card and your watercolor technique!

This is absolutely adorable! I TOTALLY agree with you in the showing a different side of you! I have people AMAZED that I made the cards I bring to work to give away! I’m a Corrections Officer and a blunt speaker, so I guess people think I’m just a hard ass! 🙄😞 it IS therapeutic! It’s also how I knew I needed help; when I didn’t really care if my craft room caught on fire or not..... very dark days! I’ve been stamping since 1992, I love it!

Kristina, I enjoyed watching you make this card and visit. I have learned how everyone making videos of cards and crafts are so talented and so kind to want to share their knowledge and time. I myself am very thankful. I have learned so many different things. In my life also it is very therapeutic, things get crazy and you can just put yourself in a creative, happy place. You are right in what you said about the people you meet, everyone has something in common and are so nice. Thank you for all you do and I look forward to seeing your next video.

Definitely a creative outlet and people really appreciate it. I used to make Christmas gifts for my family, when I didn't have a lot of money, and they loved them. I love to make cards and it is something my mother and I share and enjoy doing together. My girlfriend, whose home I go to for Thanksgiving, and I craft together, along with make cards. So much fun!!!

I totally agree about the therapeutic aspect of crafting. I used to do acrylic paintings. The last one I did--six years ago(!)--was a commissioned painting of a scene from the Grand Canyon. It turned out to be my swan song, for whatever reason. Thank heavens I found paper crafting--especially card-making--shortly after that! It is certainly a low-pressure way to craft, when you don't have to start from scratch and come up with the imagery AND the design all by yourself! But, it still allows you to be creative in how you color & design your projects, for instance. I also have grown to love the people in this worldwide community, even though I've never met any of them in person. And for me personally, it gives me a reason for being. I have had to deal with schizophrenia & major depression basically since college, and have been on disability for almost 19 years now because of that. Suffice it to say, self-esteem & relationships can be difficult as a result. But I do feel a connection of sorts to other crafters, and--surprisingly to me at least--that helps. It's nice and easier that I can interact with others as I'm able. I say a resounding thank you to the crafty people who make up this community and generously share their artwork, time, & stories! Love how this card came out, Kristina! I hope you will be able to do one with the cat version of this project set. Cats are as much of a godsend for me as crafting. Just adorable. I so agree with your thoughts on creating. Whether I'm watching or doing, it re-sets my soul to a peaceful place. I am refreshed and more balanced when creativity is part of my life. You are so right about art being therapy. My career is very analytical, logic based. Heavy left brain activity. I use art/crafting to get myself back into my right mind. I shared this relaxing method with my friends this Christmas. I gave a bunch of coloring books with pencils to them and challenged them to try it. Many of them commented how much they really appreciated the gift. One of my friends told me her husband wanted to join in on the fun too!

I love watching your videos! Your cards are so well done and I always learn something new. I totally agree what crafting is therapy. I deal with chronic pain due to surgery I had many years ago. If I'm hurting I get busy in my craft room making cards and I can forget my pain for a couple of hours. I don't know what I would do without this hobby! Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us!

I am always watching videos of yours, Jennifer’s and others! I’ll have my iPad propped up while putting on makeup in the morning. Yesterday morning I had the iPad on the floor next to me while putting on my socks and boots. My husband walked by, laughed and shook his head and said, “You and your videos.” Now I can use your word to explain why I do it... it is therapeutic!

I agree with u 100% in how crafting can be so helpful for mental health. I used to craft about 15 years ago and stopped. Then through major changes in my life around three years ago I fell into depression again (suffered on and off for most of my aduld life) but my partner encouraged me to get my crafting stuff out and play. And u know what? It's been the best therapy ever. Never had a major meltdown since and has done wonders for my self esteem.! I'm sure this is the case for so many other people. I love ur videos, they are inspiring and relaxing. Keep up the great work!

I also love the Art Impressions line of stamps. I separated them just like you did. It makes it much easier to find what I need. I just wish I could color as well as you do. I'm never quite clear on the shading, It seems everyone I watch does it a bit differently. I like the concept of one dark-ish color and lightening up the color with water while as it spreads out. I think what throws me is the fact that I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I have trouble creating that "relaxed" look, but I do love the way it looks. I enjoy listening to you talk as you are so relaxed when you do these voice overs. Thanks for the time you commit to helping others learn this craft. Much appreciated!

I craft so that I feel that I’ve accomplished something. The process of creating greeting cards is equally as important as the result. My husband is very articulate about his feelings for me. However, I make cards for him to share my feelings. It is therapeutic for me and your sharing of your feelings about your what and why really makes me feel connected to you. We’re coming to Utah next week and when we pass the sign for your town, I think of you.

I agree with you 100% about how crafting has been so important to my life. I grew up in a family who loved to create just about anything. My Mom could craft, sew and fix things and that all rubbed off on us. Thank you for reminding me how creating anything (no matter what it may be) is so vital to my wellbeing.

I am "crafty" but not very talented. You are so correct in your statement about how theraputic watching you talented artists perform your magic can be. It gives me inspiration to try new things just for the satisfaction of creating even though it is by no means beautiful. I love watching you watercolor. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

I completely agree that making and creating is a version of therapy. And when the stress is too high to allow my own creative juices to flow, I open up youtube, and there is a video from you or one of your colleagues. It's like a branch to help lift me out of the quicksand! Thank you.

You are spot on about crafting being therapeutic. A dear friend died this week from cancer and I have been so sad. Yesterday, I sat down and created a sympathy card to send to her family and the process of designing, painting and creating was very therapeutic. I’m still sad, but I feel better.

I have always dabbled in crafting and then life became so busy that crafting got put on back burner. After losing my husband in 2015, I lost myself till 2017. I knew I had to do something and do it fast, so I picked card making to which had led into everyone (family and friends) reaping the rewards. I appreciate each and every one of you and for sharing your talents! 💖💖💖🌹🤓

I think this is so sweet. You really have so much talent. I love the connection between art/crafting/cardmaking too. i am not as talented at the "art' part as you, but I am learning that the card part is an excellent for my need to create. I would love to take the class. I am looking for ways to improve my skills and my confidence. I love giving my cards to my church members who are on the sick & shut in list. It is a nice surprise for them when the mail comes. And they are always grateful. Cardmaking helps me de-stress and the creative juices that sometimes flow, allow me to do something for otherswhile helping myself at the same time. Such an adorable card......you do such inspirational work!! For me, crafting feeds my soul. It is living in the moment and letting the day’s worries slip away. It is living in hope (can I ever be as good as my girlfriends (idols) Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, Cathy Zielske and Sandy Allnock). It’s creating something especially for one person, knowing that in the giving, it will bring them joy. It is discovery and experimentation......learning something new that you didn’t know before. Crafting is learning who you are through the quiet contemplation of creativity.

When I discovered card making 12 years ago I was thrilled! It became my after work stress relief until I retired 2 years ago and now it is my daily joy, plus I've had time to take classes and expand and improve my coloring skills with different mediums. I am ever so grateful for artists such as yourself that share your talent and provide opportunities for we viewers to learn plus videos can be therapeutic as well!

I love crafting cards, but more than that I enjoy the time I spend doing it. The creative process is very special, but you can't get there without spending a good deal of time learning and practicing. And in the end, the process provides its own kind of "therapy."

This card is simply too cute. I love watching your videos; your voice is very relaxing too. I started to make cards as I just, like you, wanted to make things with my hands. I’ve loved learning new techniques along the way. I’ve recently also (re)taken up knitting and crocheting as I can do it in the evening and in front of the TV. I used to sew and cross-stitch so I guess I’ve enjoyed some sort of handicraft all my life.

I was never crafty until a few years ago. Still can't draw a stick figure 😂. Cardmaking now provides an outlet I didn't know I needed. You were among the first crafty KZfaqrs I found. Great card!

Wow! This card is SO whimsical and interesting. I agree - crafting is therapy. I have sewn since I was eight and when I retired early my friends gave me a gift card and I chose to purchase stamping and card making supplies; so glad I did! Love the process and love learning. Would like to be included in drawing for class. Thanks so much for sharing.

Watching you and Jennifer really help. I suffer from anxiety and watching you both create helps my mental health so much!!! Hearing your voices and watching you create something really helps me a lot. But on top of that, this helps me with my bible journaling!

Absolutely true about the creative process can take you to a happy place. I even watch wood turning videos on KZfaq as seeing and relatively ugly piece of wood become a beautiful bowl, vase or tray due to the skill of the craftsperson. Not that I am aiming to become a woodworker I will stick to knitting, crocheting, dressmaking, card making and jewellery- that's enough to keep me busy. Love your work.

I agree with you on the creating with hands. I, like you, have been creative since as long as I can remember. I became a merchandiser and then went into the medical field. I’ve always sold my items using different mediums throughout my life. Now I just create to create. Your card is beautiful. The intensity of color you got from a $2.00 watercolor set is insane.

Yes, card-making is definitely contemplative therapy for me, too. (Except on the occasional day when I can't find my creative mojo!) It does make it hard to give away a card I have labored on in love to someone who reads it and tosses it in the wastebasket. When that happens, they get a (cheap) store-bought card the next time! Ha, ha! Thanks for the inspiration...love your videos and thought process, Kristina. :)

Kristina, i have crafted since i was able to sit up, because i had a very talented lady for my mum, so was so very lucky. I could not see myself ever not having something to do with my hands, because like you, i need that. I may not have the definitive talent for one specific craft, but i can turn my hands to most and do it neatly(that's having my mum that does that to you ) She was a great believer in if something was worth doing right, it was worth doing well. Nothing has made me happier in the last 15 years than the fact that crafting of all kinds has come to the door of people who wouldn't have before and that is wonderful to me. Seeing someone else get the enjoyment or satisfaction of making something by their self, that they never thought possible before. People like you, have inspired so many people to try and have brought a kind of contentment and calmness to them, through doing something that you love. Crafting of any sort brings a calmness and sense of achievement to them that we all need in our lives. I no longer get made a fool of or laughed at because of my crafting, but get asked now to show how i did something, from people that i spent two decades being terrified off. To see a bully turned into a decent human being just by a little understanding is wonderful. Thank you flower for your wonderful video and i love the card, crafty hugs from Scotland x

Hi Kristina! I am a huge fan of Art Impression stamps. I have some from way back when they put out the Golden Oldies. I also have many of their scene making stamps. In my stash I have some of the more current ones too. I love what you did with this set and love the sky and ground that you watercolored. I think those two parts of the card really make the stamp set stand out.Thanks for sharing!

Adorable and unique card! Love it. I have always needed something to do with my hands but more so now that my kids are grown. Lots less cooking, laundry and sports taking up my time. And fewer bellies to eat my baking means more paper crafting too.

Hi Kristina, just love your card......the stamp & die set is really cute and of course you did a brilliant job of water colouring and assembling the cute cubby and all the lil critters. I will hafta give it a go..you do inspire me....... I used to be very much into arts and crafts...as you put it " I just love making things with my hands".......but I was really sick and outta picture for a coupla years.....no arts, crafts, cardmaking or such.....but now am much better and starting back into my passions .......watching you ( Jennifer McGuire, Koren Wiskman, Kelly Latevola. Sandy Allnock and Yana Smakula) has totally inspired me to really get back into my art again.. ....will continue to watch you and take inspiration....Sue PS I would love to attend one of your classes...either in person (obviously the best option...except I live in Australia) or probably more likely on line.....will hafta look into that..

Spectacular card! It was informative to watch your painting but more your thoughts on crafting were so profound. Sure sending cards are fun but what the "creating" part does for me is priceless. I just wanted to catch up a bit. I have been getting ready to show/sell/buy/and move into my forever home FINALLY. I assure you I will not do that again. It has kept me from enjoying your videos. I am so happy to have seen this one. Arts and crafts have always been therapeutic for me. I have had a very challenging life, however my faith shows me it is all for a reason. I love making cards for different charities and organizations. I am bedridden, so to have a purpose for my days, makes all the difference for me. I throughly appreciate these videos you show with minimal supplies, as being on disability pay, is in itself disabeling. So thank you for those. I hate that I missed the timeline to enter the contest for your art classes. I have been asking for them on my birthday and Mother's day wish list, but the kids aren't hearing me well enough. LOL. With this episode being aired on the 2nd, it was the day after my birthday as I am an April fool's baby. I just wanted to let you know how important your videos are to me and so so many others. I believe God uses you as His paint brush to add color to our lives. Thank you.

What a wonderful video! I agree about creativity. I consider it a drug. It is addictive because you get a high while doing your art. I have Multiple Sclerosis and when I am creating I have no pain because the creative center of my brain takes over and I am pain free. I always feel a withdrawal when I can get to the crating table. Your video was very good instructively. Very easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your talents. Hugs keep them coming
