? / Mr. Karate is the final boss of the game, and he is an unlockable playable character in the original version of it. However, he can only be used in 2-player versus matches.
===== HOW TO UNLOCK MR. KARATE IN THE ORIGINAL =====
Play through a single-player game, and when you reach to fight Mr. Karate (after Mr. Big's losing screen), press Start on Player 2's side to join in. Mr. Karate will be available on the character select screen for 2-player versus matches until the current game session is over.

Fireball: QCF + Punch
Dragon Punch: DP + Punch
Rapid Punches: F, B, F + HA
Thrust Kick: QCF + Kick or DB, F + Kick

Haoh Shoukou Ken: F, HCF + Punch (requires 80% Spirit Gauge)
===== MR. KARATE INFORMATION =====
---- He does not have a Desperation move.
---- In a 1-player game, he can actually complete and pass the "Initiate Super D£ath Blow" Bonus game, and learn the Haoh Shoukou Ken for use in post single matches, despite not normally being available in a 1-player game. He uses Ryo's colour palette during this.
---- The above suggests that in coding, he is built using Ryo's code. This is logical as he is pretty much a head and palette swap.
---- After the Bonus Games, when it shows the special move advice commands, his demonstrations are okay in this version of the game. However, he uses Ryo's colour palette.

---- He appears in SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos as a potential sub-boss, as Serious Mr. Karate or Honki ni Natta Mr. Karate (literal meaning "Mr. Karate having become serious".
===== ABOUT THE ALTERNATE VERSION OF THE GAME =====
This is a specially changed version of the game with all the characters and bosses permanently unlocked. This means that you can play through a 1-Player game with the enemy and boss characters.
This version also makes changes to specific elements such as the text/dialogue boxes and sprites during the Bonus games to prevent the game from halting/crashing (which is what can happen if you use unofficial methods to play as the enemies/bosses in the original version in a 1P game). Other changes include making it so that all the enemy/boss characters can meet all the enemies and bosses in a 1-player game.

The game features impressively large 2D sprites for it's time. The AOF series, with it's usage of graphical zooming, music style, sound effects and voices, has always gave you that intense and stylish atmospheric feel in fights.
