They rotoscoped this I believe...thats why the animation is unusually smooth.

Man, SNK had such finesse dealing with 2D graphics since the beginning... I always felt that Capcom lacked resolution and sprites/frames of animation until SF3... the "vs." series (and X-Men: COTA) lacked too but the gameplay was much faster, it fits.

To be totally fair, the Marvel series has great graphics and animation overall, but there's one important point: don't use MvC2 for comparison because it's the worst 2d title of the franchise in technical standards. So that excellence applies to Cota, MSH, XvSF. Other important achievements in 2d graphics from the 90s arcade age are in Red Earth.

The most nostalgic Shinkiro art period to me is his style around 96 and 97. AOF3 art looks good, like KoF 97 art.

I really enjoyed the brief clips in between rounds, where the player appears to be moving around town.

Me alegra saber que ultimanente Art of Fighting 3 esta recibiendo el aprecio que siempre debió tener 😊 Recuerdo cuando antes siempre decian cosas como que AOF3 era el peor de la franquicia. You just had to have a hit below the belt thumbnail 😅. This game would have been better if all the characters from the 1st 2 games had returned...along with more stages, color palettes and rival fights being the final fights.

AOF3 (96) has ahead of SF3 (97) in the daring decision of changing the whole roster besides two protags... And coincidence or not, it had the same fate of SF3 being a franchise killer title. AOF was over after this game, and SF after Third Strike (99) was killed and buried for many years until SF4. Rereleases like HSF2 and the last ports of SFA3 in the 00s can't be called true new games imo.

The boss was also a letdown compared to the greatness of AOF2 using Geese. Including the innovation (for 94) of crossing over between franchises. I think that idea was even common at gaming in general at time. Like, it's two different franchises and they are from the same world, and the games show the connections in your face. That was only more common in American superheros universes, that is a different media.

@@meganinten0078 I'm just not a fan of the gameplay speed, but the new mechanics are very good. I love that there is a dodge like classic KoF dodge, and otg attack like Samsho. I wanted more games using that dodge, that KoF abandoned in 96. Then Last Blade used the dodge and the otg attack, but it didn't last long anyway. It would have been perfect if there was a 4th game with just a polish to the new mechanics and some classic fighters. Maybe a nerf to juggles too.

De la trilogia Art of Fighting, AOF3 es el que mejor ha envejecido. No recomiendo jugar AOF1 y AOF2, sobretodo ese ultimo que es super dificil 😰 Ya que hay rumores de que SNK esta trabjando en un Art of Fighting 4 (hubiera preferido un nuevo World Heroes) seria bueno que tenga una jugabilidad similar a la de AOF3 pero más pulida. Si hay algo que me molesta es como la SNK actual se va a lo seguro para la jugabilidad de sus juegos (excepto SNK Heroines, ese juego si tuvo una jugabilidad original).
