In this video I try to address the most common question from detectorists, "what kind of rock do I look for to find gold?". The name of the prospector I could not think of is - Tom Murray and the nugget mentioned is at 12 o'clock in the group of nuggets picture...

You my friend are the reason I'm coming to aus travelling for 6 months to prospect. Already doing it in the uk but on a much smaller scale. Keep up the good work :)

Very interesting video I've watched several times. You mention micro/macro/outcrop structures & I was observing on Google Earth if you draw a straight line between Kalgoorlie & Menzies there are gold mines all along this NW-SE line & it looks like most of it has been drilled at some point. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.

I do have one of the original bakelite pans - Lucky Strike- had a few of them but they break easily if not cared for. Now I use the hard plastic copy....Reeds Perth

Hi bogi. I'm still trying to figure out what you mean. If i find shear zones where is the best area to detect? Detect all around the shear zone or the direction they are lying or follow the direction of fractures if they are present? Thanks. From NQ.

I just bought some property and I have some of the rocks your talking about. I also have the quartz rock. Should i buy a metal detector and find gold first or pan where i find the rock? Please get back to me .....fred

hey mad vids mate,, umm iv found a black stone. tho in the sun u can see thu it n its a very deep bright red'esh color, any idea where what this could be and also. theres a clay type dirt stuck on one side and iv carefully removed some and it appears to look like gold dust, help please lol hehe
