This is gorgeous!!! I lo V ed seeing how you went back over some areas several times to get the feel you want...I have to remember that and just keep going even when I think I've messed it up, which is always 😊 Also interesting how you ended up splitting it into 2! I LOVE markings, lines, handwriting...don't know what it is...almost like it could look like someone absently wrote a note or its been layered over many times...I dunno...just love it :) Thanks for sharing as always!!!

Why do you prefer gesso? Do you use it in place of titanium white?

I just prefer the chalky texture of gesso. 🙏💜👍

This was done with filberts. Nothing fancy. Just some affordable paintbrushes from a local store. 🌸

wow I also use the little wooden stick for the marks of writing and I too am addicted to gesso! Do you use retarder or medium in your paint? thank you xx

Using your hands is really bad advice. I mean, I do it too...but...you're suppose to say, "Do as I say, not as I do." LOL. Anyway, beautiful work. Thanks for sharing your process.

Love it. What is the yellow tool you used to scratch in the paint?

Which part? Is it the yellow scraper with the handle you mean? If so you can find these at most art stores. 💚💜❤️

Michelle, I love using gesso because of the chalky, matt texture it gives.

Hi Cathy . What is that thick round brush you use at the beginning please? Is gesso archival?

The round brush is not a round brush at all. Its a regular filbert and a cheap one too. ;) sostrenegrene.com/no/produkter/maleprodukter/pensel-p-b71d886d Gesso is archival. Almost every canvas you buy is primed with gesso as well. 🧡

Thank you. Carbon black is a cold black. I don't really know of any substitute, but you could just use a warm black like mars black. They are both very strongly pigmented. 💕

What brushes are you using besides the chip brush?

I'm using a synthetic brush like the ones you see in the photo here: sostrenegrene.com/create-fine-art-on-glitter-canvas/. They are from the danish store Søstrene Grene.
