I have been painting with oils for ever, self taught and thought I'd never master watercolor. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have found your tutorials! A whole new world opened up! I also had no idea of the different materials you can use in the process. I am now trying to find drawing gum and once I get that I will try doing the lighthouse. I feel watercolor is more difficult than oil, but so much more exciting. Thank you for sharing these tips and secrets with everyone!

Great tutorial, and this is a place I know well. The Rosa Rigosa, “beach roses”, grew at my NH home and smelled like clove, cinnamon and allspice. People would knock on my door to thank me for growing them and sharing their incredible scent.🌸

What a wonderful likeness. I was born and raised in Portland so this is part of my collective “back-yard”. The flower is (Rosa Rugosa) or beach rose. It grows wild along the shoreline and all of the islands up and down the Maine coast. Thank you so much for this very heartwarming painting.

I love Maine, Jim. I live in the Ottawa area of Canada now but when I lived in Montreal not a summer went by that we didn’t take a road trip to go and take photographs of the lighthouses in Maine. We even made it up to Bar Harbor one time. So beautiful!

I am amazed at the amount of information you provide in each session. How I wish I'd found you sooner. Everything about it is first class...the tutoring, the programming, humor, music. I haven't gotten the courage to try any yet, but watch for enjoyment as well as education.

Thats awesome you watch with your 5 year old. So many think this is my time go away. But this is how they learn to love art. Watching with an adult talking about what pauls doing and just enjoying his abilities. Then the finished product is there for her to see. And the outtakes are too much fun for you together. Have fun doing this one.

Having intermittent computer problems lately. Hours and hours spent with techies trying to fix it, but have been able to catch the videos and Facebook entries sometimes. Always, as usual, love your tutorials Paul. Thank you so much. The outtakes are hilarious. I could just hug Margo for getting you so good with the moustache. What a great way to check out Paul’s art this morning. Having lived in Maine most of my life, this was a favorite lighthouse. You did a marvelous job with all the tips on rocks and roses, water, etc. You and Margot did a great job; you both have a great sense of humor! My paintings of this was so tight compared to your great results done with enjoyment! Thanks again. PS your sea colors brought me back to the Maine coast!

Thank you for showing a pretty side of my state. I live about 20 miles from this lighthouse. The roses are beach roses and when the flower dies it forms a rose hip. Rose hip tea. Great source of vitamin C. I think I know Bahb.....good giy.

The flowers and foliage really made this painting even more beautiful. I don’t live anywhere near an ocean now sadly . Although the desert has so much beauty in it and I am taking the opportunity to paint it. I used to live in Washington state, if only I was painting then… with its majestic mount rainier, mountains and seaside beaches, I could have filled so much paper with its beauty . Can't wait to give this one a go! I love lighthouses and just about anything with water and beach. I've incorporated your cheap pastels into some of my paintings and I don't care if it's mixed media or not. I just love the effect they give....doesn't matter what percentage they are, but usually just a little touch here and there. You always bring a smile to my face when I watch your videos....oh, and Sam Adams is the only beer I drink.....love it ! Thanks, as always, for your awesome tutorials

Thank you Paul. A great demo and a great challenge. So many excellent techniques used in this one painting. It really is a perfect way to practice all the different little 'tricks'. Thank's for the fun intro and out-takes. What would a Paul Clark tutorial be without a good laugh thrown in for good measure. Thanks again 😁
