Custom computer building outfit Artesian Builds is shutting down indefinitely days after receiving online criticism over a promotional giveaway.
Last week, streamer Kiapiaa entered a competition to win a free PC provided the company, which was sponsored by Intel.
Upon winning the giveaway, Artesian CEO Noah Katz said during a livestream that she didn't qualify as an "ambassador" for the company because she didn't have enough followers on Twitch.
In a clip from March 1, Katz is heard saying "2k followers is under my threshold," and later added "here's the reason. This person has had three months of ambassadorship and not a single click," before "purging" Kiapiaa from the competition.

I always adore the apology video. It's like there's a rubric or something: ✔️ dim lighting ✔️ soft speaking voice ✔️ straight to the point ✔️ appear disheveled ✔️ long pauses between sentences ✔️ direct eye contact with camera This is great stuff.

He's extremely selfish and stupid. From the headlines I expected him to be more cruel than he actually was. I think I understand what he wasn't thinking. He thought that the process of the drawing mattered as little to everyone else as it did to him. He thought he was "keeping his promises" as long as he gave out the same number of computers as he said he would, to the same group of people he said he would. He never had the awareness to imagine what it would be like to hear your name drawn and then be denied anyway, or to be denied for reasons you couldn't control. He never tried to walk in their shoes for even a second. If anyone made all these mistakes, but confessed to exactly what went wrong the next day, felt awful, and did all they could to make it right, they could be a good person with some terrible habits. But when he made the apology video, he was the exact same selfish idiot as the day before, someone who doesn't think that trying to understand people's feelings is worthwhile. I'll bet he went to bed thinking "I did nothing wrong, it was my giveaway anyway, the internet is being weird and irrational. nothing new. I guess tomorrow morning I'll finish cleaning it up." Selfish people can learn empathy if they try. But if someone obsessively believes themselves to be perfect, and plants their feet harder and harder against any signs to the contrary, I don't know how often they ever change. He's an indestructible brick wall. We carried him to the landfill and threw him in, but he's still sitting there without a scratch. It's his loss - if he can't crumble and change, he can't come back!

it all wreaks of 'money problems'... his actions toward a ''giveaway' looked more like it was coming from his own personal pocket as a gift and not a corporate award. It's because the giveaway was probably someone elses paid machine that would now be late or out of stock to the paying customer... all for a marketing stunt.

I don't think you get the full picture. The streamer that they were talking about was eligible in every way to enter and win the giveaway according to the guidelines. Imagine being a small streamer thinking that you won a brand new pc, and getting talked down by a power tripped ceo instead.

The giveaways are rigged and fake if only famous people can win, he is pretending to be nice by doing a giveaway only to give it to someone popular......... on top of that he did not advertise the giveaway correctly and is probably earning subs and bits on twitch from people thinking they may have a chance. He deserved all the backlash, this is like taking money from the poor while rich.
