When I look at Nico Williams, all I can think of is potential lots of potential. 23 year old Mykhailo Mudryk was supposedly our wing option last year, but Chelsea thankfully saved us from making a 100m mistake for an unproven player with glaring handling issues. But Nico Williams is everything Mykhailo is not. He's younger, taller, a match for him physically and athletically. But unlike our erstwhile Ukranian, he's a very complete player. Does he need more goals, obviously, but this guy consistently tests the defense. I don't mean peppering the goal, but he makes the defense collapse toward him. In basketball, they call it gravity. You draw players towards you. And as you can see for Spain in a side littered with world-class wingers, Williams has absolutely no problem standing up.
