Mikael Lindnord, the captain of a Swedish adventure racing team, met the wounded stray dog during a 400-mile race through the Ecuadoran jungles, first by throwing him a meatball, which led the dog to follow the team through some of the toughest terrain on the planet. He decided to adopt the dog and bring him back to Sweden.

The book was great. They've shifted the story some for the movie but I hope they can keep the focus on the good the Arthur Foundation does and what it developed from.
