This guy gives accurate info but it feels like he’s trying to scare people from just using and enjoying their device in most of his videos. Like choose the color you like and just know what you’re getting. You didn’t choose wrong lol

3:00 bro, keeping battery charged between 20 and 80% is really important, but all vendors do this in firmware. Just remember: 0% on screen = 20% of REAL charge. 100% on screen = 80% of real charge. Nobody allow you to over-under-charge a battery because it's just dangerous. Overcharged battery can explode, undercharged can die forever. That's why they set limits on firmware level. Just use your device, don't think of extra difficulties.

Bro loves to add complications in every thing he purchase. Life is already complicated and we don't want all this shit. I use my mac however I like and I recommend most people to do the same but this boy is creating a wind of fear among his viewers lol its the same with every other video of his channel just because he knows there're people who can't afford these machines and who'd listen to any bs to "save" their expensive devices

Hey, just a little confused on the shutting down part. I'm getting a new macbook, and was searching care tips for it, but you said you rarely shut down your macbook and instead you put it to sleep in your older videos. Now your saying to shut it down everynight before bed. Did you realize this was better over time? Just wanna make sure when i should exactly shut it down. Thanks!

By turning it off, do you mean shutting it down? or just closing the lid?

When you say shut off your Mac, do you mean just putting it in sleep mode, or really shutting it off? I’ve seen some videos where they say don’t shut it off, instead put it in sleep mode so it can do the maintenance. How could it do maintenance if it’s actually turned off?

Hi Arthur can you tell me how to remove scratches from my MacBook Air m2 screen. I am getting mad while observing small scratches on my screen despite I carefully handled it. I don't know how it happened. And my laptop is hardly 1 year old.

Hi, I have a question. I want to ask, I am planning to buy a macbook pro 14" with M2 pro and I don't know if I should choose the version with 10 cpu and 16 gpu or 12 cpu and 19 gpu. I am afraid that the higher configuration of 14 will not mature the battery too quickly and that the computer will not overheat. Is there any big difference between these versions that is worth paying extra for? 4K videos and I also like to work with 3d.Thanks for your reply.

You'll need more GPU cores for 3D rendering. So go for the 19 cores. Don't worry about the computer getting really hot, thats why it has fans.

Doesn't optimized battery charging solve that problem of not being able to leave it plugged in all the time as it drops to 80 percent and therefore it doesn't always stay at 100 percent?

Keyboard covers are great. Just take it off before closing. Better than greasy marks and dust.

What u said about the keyboard cover and the case does not make sense at all, the keyboard cover protects the keycaps from dust and from becoming glossy because of typing and it helped me a lot of times when some water drops fell on my MacBook; the case is literally made for not damage the laptop aluminium, nothing enters in between the plastic and the laptop itself and even if there is dust the aluminum is stronger enough to not scratch.

One kind of Major oversight. Imaging someone actually follows your advice about the super slow chargers being better and starts using it all the time. If he is using anything less than 20watts, then they are running the risk of drawing more power than a charger can provide (with gaming or video editing, or downloading and installing a lot of packages) then the battery has to compensate for the difference between power input and power draw!! This will cause unnecessary drain. Be careful guys. Probs don't use less than 30w chargers on the daily. Also, if you leave the laptop plugged in, you don't use the battery to power it, therefore reducing the total charge cycle count.

Arthur, my biggest question is that what if I keep my Macbook always plugged in but restrict charging to just 60 percent using a third party app. Am I actually doing good by not increasing my battery cycles or is it harmful in any other way? I couldnt get an answer anywhere on the internet. would be of great help if you could help me out. CHEERS!

just turn on optimised battery charging and leave it plugged in, apple engineers know how to design your battery better than anyone else
@Wannes_
@Wannes_ Жыл бұрын
There's no issues keeping it plugged in Actually, my 2018 MBP battery's health state has slowly improved from 69% up to 76% since I started to keep it plugged in and disabling "optimised charging" So yeah, it's usually @ 100%, but the charging cycles don't increase as fast
@nicabc
@nicabc Жыл бұрын
That use case sounds like its the closest to keeping the macbook in the box (in terms of battery state), if you plan on going out with it, i suggest you keep it at 80%, i dont know if it is less stressful for the battery at 60% or at 80%, its probably way better than keeping it discharged or at 100%.

@@nicabc Keeping it plugged in is apparently better than putting cycles on it - which I'm now only doing when I have to use it mobile.

Something I'm very disappointed to see and left us confused as viewers. You showed a Uni multi-hub (the one with a light blue rubber surround) when discussing to avoid cheap hubs, but then when you switched to showing example "approved" hubs, you didn't include the Uni hub. So was the Uni hub one to stay away from or steer towards. Very confusing. I have one, which is why I'm asking.

Yeah no if apple really followed the USB-C Standard you should be fine using a good USB-C adapter. That's the whole idea behind USB-C 1 Charger for everything. Way to much myth in this video than truths.

the truth is, use a charger with the wattage recommended by apple as using one too high won't do anything as the port will just not take the extra but using one with too low of wattage will damage the battery.

Totally agree. Don’t listen to marketing fairy tales about “safe fast chargers”, they all have huge impact on battery life. If you want to replace it after a year or two then of course just ignore this advice
@hugochan2821

Absolute BS to tell people not to use fast charging. Xiao mi has perfected fast charging, and they use chemical compound that do not damage your electronics while charge fastly. They are leader in chagrined space. A phone can be charged to full power wirelessly in 20 mins, and wired in 10 minutes, and you have full day battery life. And you give advice to people buy apple obsole, age old, obsoleted, ordinary charger, while charging speed is slow, and is actually worse to your laptop than a Xiao Mi charger. Then, you told people not to use non apple charger, which is more BS. As shown, apple is generation behind in charging technology, compared to android phone and pc manufacture. It is common place for pc and android user use usb type c charger, which is a standard, aimed for simplifying charging standard. And you still tell people using other brand charger will damage your computer. What a joke, that the eu mandate apple to abandoned the lightning port, to stop people from getting scammed, and you on the other hand decivie people into getting scammed. Do you heard desktop computer not working when an off brand charger is used. Will your car stop working when you use Russia oil instead of US oil. Why will using off brand charger damage your apple laptop. It will not. And a 1000 dollar laptop, or any laptop have enough tech to protect you from encountering charging problem. It is pity that apple use made for iPhone brand to scam user to use their inferior product. And apple don’t dare to put this scheme to iPad or MacBook. And you dare tell people voluntarily use apple charger. What a joke.
