Hello Beautiful Kate! What beautiful orchards God has blessed you with. The Joy of watching entrepreneurs does my heart good. This molded plastic is a great concept. I have orchards in Texas, United States of America. For those that may not have the extra money for these molds, may I suggest what I use? God had instructed me that all land that I wanted to grow my Fruit & Citrus trees in, needed a covering. Also my soil is hard clay. I asked my creator what to use for covering on my Orchards. I was instructed to use something free to us. Cardboard. I plant, then take 4 pieces of cardboard, place on each side of my trees, then cover with tree bark. The cardboard brings in & feeds beautiful earthworms, which makes my clay soil, perfect for the roots of my fruit trees. The sticks, leaves & twigs, (bark) makes great natural fertilizer for my orchard. Also, the cardboard holds in moisture. If I am low on bark mulch, I put hay/straw on top of the cardboard. Alan’s enthusiasm and spirit are great for his product he is selling! May God prosper him tremendously! I pray to always have free cardboard for my gardens and orchards & I pray people will start planting fruit trees & have an abundance of Gods bountiful food on their property. This is great Kate! However, how can you add manure after harvesting to increase yield for the next season??? I don't think if this part have been covered. Does the mineral composition of a the organic decomposed tool introduced to us serves are manure as well? Sorry for my crazy question. My suggestion is that, whoever interest in this new tech should research by establishing it to few Apple Tree. The you the rest as control to see the difference. Anyone can do.

Weed management is very big in Europe this a very good idea . U can use different products for weed control and water retention..

Using organic and locally-produced grass mulch instead of plastic mulch have indeed many benefits for both your health and the environment, as well as potentially saving you money.

How do you add manure after adding that piece of protection?

How safe is it to the soil microbes? When we talk of organic, the rhizosphere has to be free from any air/sun blocks. Why not use the vegetative mulch?
