Jill W Holder is known for artworks featuring found objects. From a young age, her creative spirit was evident as she constantly crafted objects and images, often using unconventional materials.
As she developed her artistic skills, Jill's passion for creating things out of everyday objects grew. Her work evolved, incorporating elements of surrealism, fantasy, and arrangement. She explored various mediums, including fashion design, before fully committing to her career as an artist.
Throughout her journey, Jill's art has transitioned from box-based creations to more thought-provoking pieces. She has explored themes related to children affected by war and the recognition of faces. Her artist books have served as a medium for her creative expression, touching on a wide range of subjects.
Despite facing various pressures and challenges, Jill Holder has remained dedicated to her artistic pursuits. Her work continues to evolve, reflecting her interests and perspectives, often imbued with a blend of humour and profound meaning.
Recorded in Faversham in August 2023.

Jill was always different but beautiful both in and out. So delighted that she has managed to spend her life doing what she so clearly loves and is dedicated to - her art. Well done Jill. Fantastic to see someone still so enthusiastic later in life and having been to that "posh" grammar school with her, know her age, but she comes across still so young and vibrant. Super interview, interesting and fun to listen to, keep going forever with your art Jill

I remember your Open the Box show as being so enjoyable, with a mix of emotions. It was wonderful. Do it again and make it a touring exhibition! The film shows two early boxes with stamps and stones. Which titles did you use for them?

Thank you! I would love to show it again! The two in this clip are 1. (With stamps pinned to the board) "Butterflies 1993) 2. (With beach chalk marked like faces, mounted on sandpaper) " Conversation Piece" 1993

@@studio5show I have watched other videos from this series, any many others, But this one no matter what I do does not have a sound, I opened link in different browsers and its always the same. There is music at the beginning but no sound when the artist speaks.

@@SilviaPogoda-hl1yx I am sorry you are having trouble. However, I have checked it all and the sound is on all the way through. There doesn' t seem to be any issue with it.
