@@fortivomusic I definitely do, but they are a bit controversial at least in parts of the metal community: Babymetal. Some still claim they are some kind of gimmick, because they originated in an idol show on Japanese TV, started very young (10-12 yo), use choreography as an integral part of their stage performance and with some very few exeptions have not written their music themselves. So you can't really call them a band in the normal sense of the word. But then, they have been around for about ten to twelve years now, and many credible rock musicians, beginning with Rob Halford and including people like Metallica and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, have endorsed and praised them. They collaborated, amongst others, with Joakim Broden (Sabaton), Tim Henson (Polyphia) and recently Tom Morello. Live, they are supported by top notch session musicians, the so called Kami band. If you don't know them: Imagine three girls/young women in costume doing a J-Pop performance, while behind them a Heavy Metal band is really shredding it. Sounds totally wrong, but I am obsessed with the results. I saw them live in May as they were supporting Sabaton, but neglected to buy tickets for their upcoming headliner concert in Cologne when you still could get them :( I love Suzuka Nakamoto's lead vocals and her amazing stage presence. I adore the way they connect with their audience. It is very refreshing to have lyrics with positive messages: Standing up to bullying, forging your own path against adverse conditions, getting up again after taking some hits, defining yourself as a Japanes women without accepting the traditional role model, using dreams and imagination to bring colour into this world, managing your desire to eat chocolate, enjoying Papaya salad or just getting pumped up for some sort of celebration. Some of their songs have very strong connections to traditional Japanes culture, but at the same time play devil with them. In their most recent music video Metali, they dance in a traditional Japanese room and use lots of cultural references, but simultaniously wear boots inside a house (a total no go in Japan) and casually kick aside two tea tablets to have more room for dancing. Five videos for a first impression: - Megitsune, original MV (very early, still one of the quintessential Babymetal songs) [edit:] Or you watch the live version of the "Legend of 1997" concert, which actually happened in 2013 (the name refers to Suzukas birthyear), to get an idea how a Japanese audience reacts [end edit] - Karate, original MV (2016) My entry to Babymetal - Kagerou (2019), any live version with an intro by the Kami band. Probably my favourite Babymetal song. - Monochrome (2023), either live at the Clear Night concert or the piano version as perfomed on the YT channel The First Take. - Metali ft. Tom Morello, the original MV (2023) You might want to check out the lyric translations beforehand, as they mostly sing in Japanese. Japanese female Rock bands (in the narrower sense of the word in contrast to Babymetal) I am aware of - Bandmaid combine metal instrumentation with clean, melodic lead vocals. At least that is what I have heard until now, and I do like it. My journey regarding this band is still in its very early stages but will certainly be continued. - Nemophilia's lead vocalist can easily switch from screams and shouts to clean female singing, a bit similar to Jinjer. Slightly harder than my taste, but still a good listening experience. I have to add I've only listened to a couple of their songs until now. The same goes for - Lovebites. The shredding going on here is totally insane, yet still melodic. - Hanabie Definitely on my bucket list, but up to now I haven't listened to any of their music. Have a good day!

@@fortivomusic I used the weekend do dive deeper into Band-Maid and I have to say I am definetly a fan now. Five dedicated and skilled musicians absolutely on fire. It might be a matter of debate weather they are closer to Punk or Heavy Metal. Something in between, I guess. The live video of "Domination" is often named as a good entry. There is footage on YT of their complete 2023 Lollapalooza 2023 appearance as well as clips from other recent live shows. In an intrview with the YT channel "105.7 the point" they talk about some of their influences/favourite bands.

А я посмотрела видео, призывающее вступать в армию, и мне не верится, что снявшиеся там здоровяки находятся на передовой. Что они жрут борщ вёдрами - в это верю (потому что лишний вес налицо). Так что не надо!
