Would you explain how you arrived at the decision to make the angle cut 15 degrees? For example, if my dimensions are different? Thank you for your help!

I swear I've been trying to find a video all week of how to make something like this if you're not an expert in carpentry and don't have all power equipment and I've had 0 luck so far lol I don't even know what type or size of wood to ask for
