I was homeschooled from a young age and my mom was friends with this group of animal rescuers (like the kind that do demonstrations for kids and carry around their gentler rescues for educational stuff) and for Halloween one year my mom and my brother helped them do this Skunk Ape bus ride thing, and while they were setting up stuff, me and the daughters of the animal rescuers swam in a nearby creek, so seeing y’all bring up the skunk ape brought up so many memories :)

I live in Florida, and used to work for a casino which was owned by the Seminole Tribe. Several of my Seminole coworkers would partake in an annual skunk ape hunt in the swamps of southern Florida. It was somewhat of a family tradition, apparently.

18:10 my theory of the beast of Gevaudan, is that judging by its description and fur color, it could possibly be a hyena. I remember a myth of a hyena somehow finding itself on an island in ancient Greece, so one loose in France isn't too far fetched

I'm gonna be that guy: Methane is odourless, so saying the skunk ape smells like it, doesn't make much sense. The smell we associate with natural gas is from a sulfur compound, that's added to make it easier to notice leaks.

Sulfur and sulphur are both accepted spellings, however the technically correct spelling for the element that's chalky and yellow and smells awful is Sulfur, as a common form of it, Sulfuric acid, is spelled with an F not a ph

While trying to pause the video, I accidentally skipped to the part where they were like "Its a haggis" and saw the Boobrie which at the time I didn't even know what it was cause I was still back at the beginning and was genuinely confused 😂 Also, if it were me drawing the boobrie, I would've asked for the spelling then proceeded to draw a ghostly wheel of brie.
