The book is absolutely beautiful!! You can see the amount of time and effort you put into it, it's so delicate and magical! I love it!! I just found a wooden box at a charity shop, which is the perfect size for my watercolor tubes, and I was thinking about how I could decorate it, I have definitely got some ideas now!! Thank you for being such an inspiration, and I cant get over how incredible your book cover is!!

I know you were going to art school,but were you only depending on art school art education structure? How would you advice someone to do it? Wow Jess!!! Just wow!!! This looks like an ancient magic book. I would have never thought of gold foil… when you said the idea for gold I thought “oh gold leaf!”. This is MAGNIFICENT. It’s definitely a very unique piece of art and a very unique video. I can already tell this sketchbook is going to be very special. The editing and music made the video so fun, I almost cried when you pulled of the foil…. it looks so good!!!!! 😄🤩✨💖🎉👏👏

@@artofjesskarp I'm glad I found your video because I only knew how to foil using a laser printer but I'm not able to afford a laser printer. The possibility with glue is something I don't really like. So I'll give this tool a try too. Thanks for that 🙂

Absolutely stunning! A little tip that might help you if you keep using this tool in future: there is no need to transfer the drawing onto the foil, you can use the tool on top of the paper (whilst placed on top of the foil, of course) This may save you some time. As long as you go slowly so the heat travels through the paper onto the foil, it does the trick. The thinner the paper, the better. It also works if you have your design on transfer/vellum paper . Cheers!

I really admire how much you dedicated to this book cover! I wonder at the longevity of this process? Should you cover the gold with a gloss or mat medium? or maybe just Mod-Podge? I have done similar treatments to covers and they rub or wear off with use. SO important to protect it! I hope you show us how it wears and if you do cover it with a coating of some kind.
