It's a risky strategy many pro gamers talk about in a best of (X). The idea being you win, youre up 1-0 and set the tempo, but it's also possible to lose and then the opponent sets the tempo. Iloveoov talked about this during a match with julyzerg. Julyzerg spent ages coming up with the perfect strat then iloveoov rushes him with a generic Terran scv marine rush iirc but If not that some Terran rush. Julyzerg then got all tilted and lost the series.

Now that should the sunken on the ramp died or was not there or was not blocking vultures... Scan would win easily. Second game was harder to justify. Maybe scan thought zealot would do econ rush, but that is just not his style

4 pool is used at the pro level sometimes. normally vs terrans on maps where they wall in their natural expansion, as the timing it gets there gives a decent chance of winning immediately.

Julyzerg used to try stuff like that when he was out of form.

or even a group of lings you move in and out before/during the mutas going in and out and firing on the marines.

well I mean lings can't fly, and also how much can they even tank? Squishiest units in the game.

I also used to wonder why pro zergs didn't swap out mutas the way zelot is doing today in 2023, haha. I had the idea of a muta recovery area way back, the idea of changing them into guardians is cool as well. I love this meta.

Is it me or do turrets absolutely suck?

@@Stranzua They're pretty bad against mutas. Mutas are classified as small so they only take half damage from turrets. Arty even said if brood war got a balance patch the turret should get changes to be better against mutas.
