I grew up in the South many years ago, but the practice of eating chicken with a waffle for breakfast doesn't ring my bell. I'll stick to bacon and eggs with a cup of coffee.

The building which is called The English Hotel reminds me of my dentists building in Los Angeles on Wilshire Blvd. No thanks, don’t want to stay at a hotel where I reminisce about drills, , Novocain, and pain……lots of pain! That's the thing with fusion food. It can end up badly. I've rarely had fusion food where different flavors worked well together.

Thanks for tour of a midtown area and the review of Pepper Club's chicken and waffles, I have been a Marriott member for many years and have never heard of this breakfast chip in any of the Marriott emails, very interesting.

Nice to see you visit the Arts district. Lots of bars there. That English hotel is connected to Todd English the famous fancy chef guy that's why the food is frou frou asian fusion.

DTM, your comments about the chicken and waffle combination are so funny! I am going to make a Belgian waffle and pour some general tso chicken takeout over it to get the experience. Maybe spicy orange chicken would be better.😂

Marriott offers members platinum and higher a choice of amenity at Tribute hotels to include choice of free breakfast with every morning of your stay. Every hotel has its own way of conveying the free breakfast voucher. The most common is a marriott standard paper one time use breakfast card. Looks like The English uses a poker chip.

When I first tried chickenand waffles from Roscoe's in Los Angeles, the fried chicken was served on the side and it stayed crispy and waffle was served plain with butter and syrup only. I would prefer it served this way in case I don't like how the cHicken is seasoned.

One of the best Asian fusion is bolo pork chop sandwich. Lol…smells Asian…like grandma with a scent of tiger balm? I might’ve liked the fried chicken and waffle if the waffle was with Hong Kong egg waffle. The token was cute. Most Marriott’s give a paper voucher, and the restaurant will then charge it to your room. Who knows these thing?

Totally get what you're saying Danny. A Root Beer float using Pepsi is still good, but not as good as using Root Beer. Being to overly creative when trying to create the next best food or drink in many cases is not as good as the original recipe. Just keep it traditional I say, no need to reinvent the wheel. ...and 1st time seeing you laugh/chuckle ...that was weird. lol

DTM will stay at sheety rooms or go to seedy areas if it's free. My Toyota Dealership gave out a poker chips for free Subway coffee and cookies. I have never seen matcha waffles. Somebody there knows that you love tap water.

Danny used to live in NY where normal folks get around on the bus or subway. He does not own a car and has being getting around on the bus. On several trips, Steve will be kind enough to be his taxi.

Boutique hotel + Arts District = fusion chicken and waffles. I imaging people choosing such a place expect and even desire that sort of thing. They want to be and be seen as edgy or cool, and post about it on Instagram or TikTok.😛
