Art is good for inspiration and healing the ill. Like a nude angel chiseled into the walls of a temple.

Do you think the dripping paint/ink trend has been overdone, overused in contemporary art? I do. It seems like every impression artist does it. It’s time to explore a new trend. What would that be ? Who knows ! You come up with it, be a trend setter! 👍✌️❤️

Not to take away from the artist, but I do feel that the dripping effect feels quite “gimmicky”. I prefer to not be able to readily identify how an effect was created, and dripping is so obvious. I prefer the effects of layering in an abstract painting- there is more skill and visual interest.

I am disabled and retired and have started to paint again. I find these KZfaq videos VERY helpful to get me "back in the saddle." When I started painting at age 7, I started out with representational art, but as I became more in tune with what I like to paint, I get more and more interested in the abstract. But I don't "know" much about it, so I stepped into this video to see what she had to say. I am currently drawn to mixed media and have a set of paintings in mind with a certain technique, and I am hoping that this video helps me pull it together.

So cool that she shared her steps. I usually paint abstract things but wanting just to be able to do abstract marks shapes. She’s right it’s more difficult than you would think.

I love the finished painting I wish she had pointed out which was the back, mid and foreground colours. Also does it have to "mean" something or is it just lovely to look at!? Thank you I'm finding your KZfaq so helpful. :)

I loved watching you creating this piece. Abstract mixed media with words often encourages a deeper connection with the piece. It blurs the boundaries between traditional art. I enjoyed your creative expression and is certainly incorporating some techniques into my next work.

I love that she has an idea of who it’s intended for before starting. That’s a really interesting way to pick color choices and composition and an overall mood. Love it! ❤

Does the 2X spray seal it enough to start the oil layer or do you still need to use gel gloss first?

We’ve actually seen a progressively higher and higher demand for abstract art because it’s so transcendent and works in so many different spaces.
