this guy was in tournament top5 in U18 Euro 2018 (Latvia got 2nd place). So he was an elite Euro player (for his age) few years back. his career had some setback but lets hope that he can realise his full potential soon

@@diha9004 His real sons were moderate players but this guy reminds me a lot of Valdis's great moments back in 1980s. Sandis's best performance was in Euro 2005 against Spain. That was a great game for Latvia despite the loss in overtime.

Congratulations to Latvia 🇱🇻! But sad to the Host (Indonesia). FIBA's rules is Very Unfair for Indonesia as one of Basketball World Cup Host. FIBA is too strict with their FIBA ranking idealism. Indonesia basketball team must reach at least FIBA Asia 8th position if they want play as World Cup host. Of course it's not easy when they must play against China and Australia in FIBA Asia. FIBA allow QATAR to join FIBA World Cup as host WITHOUT Fiba Asia Top 8 Mission. The Qatar basketball team and their Fiba ranking Even WORSE than Indonesia. Qatar also DON'T have NBA PLAYER Like Indonesia. This Is Truly A Discrimination To Indonesia.

If its true about Qatar, you are right. But you know Qatar, those sheikhs are very rich. Of course i would argue than Indonesia would loose by -50 like liban and other, but after todays Japan performance I am not sure.

@@SavivaldybiuLyga In FIBA Asia, Indonesia only lost 9 points against Jordan and Indonesia Beat Saudi Arabia. Present day Indonesian basketball is Not that bad. They have NBA Player. Young Indonesian basketball player also play in NCAA Division 1. And many Indonesian basketball players also study basketball in USA, Australia, and Europe.

Maybe at FIBA level, we have not been lucky to qualify before, but with our top roster we always have potential to be among top 8 in Europe and if lucky, even be better. Of course this win is a big upset but we are like... objectively better than half of teams in this tournament. Objectively. Even without Porzingis. We won Georgia, Finland, Puerto Rico and Dominican before the tournament, lost to Lithuania. So it is an upset that we qualified over France in this group, but in most other groups (except group C with USA and Greece) we would probably have a bigger and in some cases MUCH bigger chance to qualify.
