Anne Akiko Meyers was invited by legendary composer, Arvo Pärt to perform the opening recital at the Arvo Pärt Centre in Laulasmaa, Estonia. She performs Philip Glass's 'Metamorphosis II' (arr. Michael Riesman) with Akira Eguchi, piano.

This is breathtaking! Philip Glass is incredible for writing such beautiful music, whilst Meyers is quite literally magnificent for performing it so masterfully, as is the pianist. Bravo! Lovely dress too.

I know about this song from almost 20 years ago when the movie The Hours came out. Although so much time has passed, I have not come across another song that resonates and provokes the moods that this song causes me. Personally, I imagine in the beginning the appearance of a person's life, calm, melodious, calm. Next comes the hectic part that everyone is experiencing with a lot of action, struggle, performance on all levels. Then, suddenly, calm reappears, similar to the beginning but different in its own way. The end part of life is naturally represented by the fact that the song ends

I typically do not care for any compositions by anti-Romantic Mr Glass. This is an exception. AAM is ever brilliant -- as usual. Nice. Invested with a kindly pathos. Secondly, AAM always gowned like a fashionable princess --with a pretty pixie cut. So attractive to the eye. Piano playing is good as well. Happy New Year 2020. TY AAM. MAKE $.
