This brings me back to my youth in the mid '70s when five us made the trip (in an Austin A40) from Limerick to "The Merryman Tavern" in Scarriff Co. Clare to see four legends in folk and traditional music give us memories for life !

Takes me back to a better time and place, Andy's voice transports you, in my case to a cottage not far from Blackstone Bridge and Cara lake a lonely spot from my youth but a treasured one too, but that was long ago and a better Ireland than I returned to depending on your point of view.

Is that instrument a hurdy gurdy or some delightful thing I've never heard before? I've never heard it here in the Appalachians, but I hear the echoes of Ireland in a lot of other folk music from my neck of the woods.

@@robertmoray988 Thanks man. I've only seen a few of them in the flesh (wood?) and they had enough differences to the this one I was unsure. Thought it might have been a violin/viola (very close but different enough to warrant two names) type scenario. I dig the way they sound and wish they weren't so expensive. I haven't learned a new instrument in years and they look super fun.
