"Amongst all this chaos, look at the beauty." Love that sentence. And I know what that means, I did a 2000 km walk four years ago and the beauty of the landscape makes the pain unimportant. Pain is just there and it wouldn't be as beautifull if there was no pain. Thank you for this film.

2011 was a record year for snow in the Sierras. It made the desert absolutely beautiful, but the high country was a slog. We left from the Mexican Border May 5th and hit Kennedy Meadows a week before the Summer Solstice. On October 26th we reached Canada- Very late, and very very snowy!

Unbelievable film. This is the best documentation of the entire PCT thru hike I have seen. Very professionally done. The photography was amazing. I did the WA portion of the PCT in 2012 and appreciate how you capture so much of the real experience. I am blown away by how well your photography was while you were pushed to the limits physically and emotionally. Just finished it and will watch it again on the TV with my wife. My daughter and her boyfriend are preparing to hike the entire PCT starting in a couple of months and I will get her to watch this. Truly inspirational.

Beautiful film gentlemen. I was going to take on the AT earlier this year after my job moved away. Before I set out on my trip I was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily everything was able to be taken out surgically without chemo and I now have a clean bill of health. My dad and I managed to do a 5 day section hike in the Smokies on the AT since then and my heart has yearned to return there everyday since then. I feel a little catharsis after watching your film and many times I felt I was alongside you. Take care gentlemen and I wish you many more safe adventures.

I just can't get enough of this film! Not only have I shared it with hundreds of people, included dropping it nonchalantly into most conversations, but I myself have watched it multiple times. Each time I find myself sobbing at the pure freedom that lies at our backdoors while we all shuffle to conform to our everyday inherited routines only to buy things that show our status class amongst ourselves while we surround ourselves with people we only seek to judge our own equities against. To laughing hysterically at the most minimal mishaps that I feel like I experience with you. I know I just left a comment earlier today but I keep finding myself coming back for more, wondering how something so enlightening isn't being screened in Hollywood theaters! I cannot express the pure enjoyment I get out of knowing that pure nature still exists. Not only in the country we seek to drive through as fast as we can to reach our populated destinations, but forged in the spirit of the few that seek true freedom. I have to admit I have conformed recently. Coming from being homeless to making 60k a year in 2 years time has been an absolute miracle and blessing. To say I don't appreciate it would be inhumane. But to say I don't feel a little ashamed of the hermit I've become would be a lie. I dropped out of high school many years ago to seek adventure and see the world through diplomatic change in the Marine Corps. When that ended I was left with questions, and questions only. I made myself this way, which means you can always change your perception on what you see as successful. You two did thay for me in a time that I thought I had seen the light I was completely blinded by your souls light for freedom. Thank you in a million ways for the awakening. You've brought meaning to my life once again and I cannot repay you enough. Happy trails mates hope to see you out there sooner than later.

You can live the life until you drop. When I was forty-nine years old, I soloed for three weeks in the Mohave desert in Arizona. I had precooked rice rolled in honey, a water filter, a back-pack, a tarp, and some earplugs. I'm proud to say that sixty miles after I began, I staggered into Peach Springs looking like hell warmed over. I used to say that the desert belonged to me, but from that day forward I knew I belonged to the desert.

I know im late to party of viewing this one of a kind, extraordinary amazing documentary, Journaling 2 friends through some of the country's most diverse landscape. As a young child I hated going on hikes with my Dad, not realizing the valuable lessons he was trying to teach me, the beauty of nature that needs to be preserved. As ingot older, hiking has become a way to soul search, time to disconnect from the everyday hustle and bustle of the corporate world, fight and heal from inside that is helped through grounds of mother nature. I too, now embrace a small part of the wilderness path that is the PCT but only for 250 miles, through the JMT. Im doing it for my 50th birthday in the summer of 2023. I only hope I can capture the beauty that is within this film, and express the feelings as eloquently spoken as you have. Thanks for an amazing time capsule and beautiful enriched film.
