Ling Yungche's life was so tragic. He saved the emperor and empress XianXian and Ruyi's lives only to be slandered, beaten, turned into a eunuch, and finally killed. You would think he had enough merit to have a worry-free life but Yanwan's supposed love was a selfish evil obsession.

I love how war ready Rongpei is and she's never afraid to stand up and defend Ruyi, she's amazing ( her beating Wanyan's eunuch with a broom lmao) 4:54

The sad thing is, Hailan thought Ruyi was keeping her away due to her ordering Ling Yunche's death. It was so Hailan wouldn't know Ruyi was dying as Ruyi wouldn't have been able to hide it from Hailan, since she knew Ruyi so well. Pity, she had to do so.

Probably because she knew Hailan would understand. But she left a letter to her son because her son is young and didn't understand what all the fighting for favor in the harem meant. Ruyi knew Hailan would come to understand why she didn't want to see anyone of them. Plus during the whole drama, Ruyi would bring up the dead. She suffered from PTSD and saviors guilt. She blamed herself for many of the deaths and seeing Hailan would probably remind her of Ling again. She probably never really forgave Hailan for that lol

@071 She did forgive Hailan, she understood why it was done. But she can't exactly forget how unjustly Ling Yunche died, so she just chose not to think about something that's so painful for both of them. The ones she really blames for Ling Yunche's death are Qianlong and Wei Yanwan.

I know it’s bad to laugh at murder but I laughed at this part because jinzhong DESERVED it because he helped create the feminine fury and let her use him until he wasn’t need like he thought he’d serve by her side and then she’d help him get the position that li yu has but like he pissed her off royally when he concocted all those offenses to Ling yunche that she DIDNT want to do but did it himself I think when Ling was made into a eunuch that was the final straw. But a side note Chunchan should have realized after this that she as a servant is expendable

Totally. This is one of those few things where even though it shows how dispicable a person is you gotta go " Girl, I really hate you, but in this case...I'ma record it so we can watch it again and again until it stops being awesome"

By killing Jingzhong, she’s killing the one person who helped her the most in getting her to where she got to at that point. She really held a grudge (him persuading her to kill off Ling Yungche and her own mother and all). This was probably one of her bigger mistakes she makes (probably would’ve become empress with his help, could be wrong though 🤷🏻‍♀️), aside from being one of the few wake-up calls her servants get: she has no sympathy in killing those around her, even if they themselves were faithful to her at one point. Scary 😰

Jinzhong was already in the bad side of the Empress (Ruyi) and everyone else including Li Yu, his antics basically become known to everyone. He was going to get killed or interrogated at one point or another, likely by Hailan's hands.

Ling never liked him. From the beginning when he creeped on her to Yunche’s death to her mother’s death and her brother’s banishment, she despised this man.

Helped her? He was helping himself he wanted li yu’s spot and saw a perfect opportunity in yanwan when she was being mistreated by consort jia he planted the seeds of her to aim high and she took it and he became attracted to her but she was creeped out by him and over time hated him but kept him strung along because he’s the one who helped pave the way to get to where she needed to be

Not just the Enuch and the Emperor... It ALLL started with her mother. Ling wanted to marry Ling Yunche. The two were in love and Ling felt if he made enough money to be able to provide for her then they could earn the blessing of Wei's mother. Instead Wei's mother forced her to become a consort to the emperor.

I read in Rome history about a male concubine. In this story, did in Chinese's History they have some kind of female and another female concubines have feeling towards each other? When I saw Hailan and Ruyi, they are very each of them...

It's possible! I've read that many female concubines (if not all) were married to the Emperor as some sort of a political tool so their maiden clans could be favoured in court or to gain trust for a peace treaty or things like that. Many of them didn't even get to see the Emperor in their lives. So, imagine you're married to a faraway country, alone, with someone you don't even know or love, and you got to only talk to other concubines who understood your feelings perfectly. I just think it's rare for those relationships to be recorded in history since they're most likely would be really secretive (since it's relationship between woman who's basically married to the Emperor, they could get themselves and their entire maiden clan killed) and the already rare written records most likely would be destroyed because the stated reason above and the heavy Chinese censorship. I totally get you. HaiLan and Ruyi's relationship is something more closely to romantic one (although a bit one-sided in my opinion, because Ruyi seemed to only harbor platonic love for HaiLan). It's also ironic that HaiLan's love for RuYi is more sincere than the Emperor's. HaiLan never loved the Emperor, she never shown any interest (physical and otherwise) for him and only bore his child to free Ruyi, her loyalty to RuYi is unwavering to the end.
