I am 58 years old.I miss watching this with my mom in the summers when I was a little man.She was a teacher and home during the summer. Those were some great days in the 70s.

I love how all of these openings capture the aesthetic of the decade they were made in: 50's and 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, and some part of the 2010's.

It is still hard to believe that this series is not on air anymore. It was such a great soap!

I used to watch this in the 50's and 60's. I'd sit on the sturdy cocktail table doing the ironing sometimes. Before we had a tv, my Mom and I listened to soap operas on the radio. After I married and moved away, we shared many phone conversations discussing the storyline. When I was working, she'd keep me abreast of the plots. We loved to speculate about what might happen. Later in life, she started watching Young and the Restless, which I'd been introduced to by my wasband. He was a student when we were first married, and had time to watch it. He loved the attractive women. So then I was able to fill her in on that backstory. Happy happy memories.

Hands down 81-93 I started watching as the world turns with my mother around 85 or early 86, and the cast they had during that time was great! From 85 to the early 90's no one did it better. The cast was great, the writing was awesome, and as the world turns ran like a well oiled machine. Those latter openings was reflective of a once proud soap opera. As the world turns forever!

2002 through 2006 sounds the most like the spirit of the show IMO. Love the quick pics that match the fast drum beats starting at 3:31.

Made me shed a tear. As The World Turns was my favorite Soap Opera & God I was watching for 5 of their themes. I miss the stories, the characters but most of all the show as a whole.

great daytime soap opera which is greatly missed. I will miss the late great Kathryn Hays, who passed away this week. She was absolutely marvelous as Kim Hughes! I miss the other actors who have passed away besides Kathryn Hays. I still love and admire the other actors who are still alive who played on As The World Turns. As The World Turns and the town of Oakdale are still in my heart. RIP to Kathryn Hays, Santos Ortega, Helen Wagner, Terri Vandenbosch and countless other actors who played on As The World Turns who have passed away.

My grandmother loved her some soaps! And when she babysat me in kindergarten, she made sure we got back to her house in time (but safely!) to see this particular soap! BTW, the organ music was a carryover from the radio days. And the reason they are called soaps was they were sponsored by dishwashing detergents and products like Ivory Soap.

The early 2000s was very much like General Hospital’s “Faces of the Heart” opening. I love soap openings like that. I feel like they should have all been like that.

It hard to believe how time flies with these shows. I used to watch the most of these soaps when I was a kid. 60 years have really gone by. Could hardly wait to see what was going to happen the next day. People took it too serious though.

My mother watched this show everyday when I was a kid in the 60's Can picture my mom taking a break and eating lunch while watching this show. Song is etched in my memory.

I'm 61 so seeing this reminds me of those 1970's summers, being home from school and my mom watching CBS's The Edge of Night, Search for Tomorrow, The Guiding Light and ATWT. Oh and TPIR. Those intros I haven't thought about for years but are still in my mind and memories.

I like the music of the 80s opening the best. (and I wasn't born until 84 lol.) it's got the otherworldly sound effect at the beginning of the track and also the strings as well.

I can remember a little before 1981 because my mom watched it. But I really remember 81 through 93 the most because I watched it sometimes.

I remember the intros from the 2000s and the last intro in 2010 as a kid whenever I was at my grandma's house when she babysat me while my mom was at work during the summer. I was born in 2003 so obviously i dont remember the first intros from the 1950s to 1990s. I remember she always watched Y&R as well so she was a soap opera fan. My grandma unfortunately passed away in 2011 so the intros I remember as a kid the nostalgia hit me like a brick, takes me back to the old days when life was simple as a child. She never missed an episode of ATWT and Y&R. She started watching ATWT in the 60s and was there for every episode including the finale

My grandmother would pick me up from kindergarten every school day, and except for taking care of me, she made sure she got home in time to watch "As the World Turns"!

1967 to 1981 was the best of all.

That last ATWT intro in 2009 - 2010 just made me sad because it just felt like the producers threw their hands up in the air and no longer gave a damn because they new the show was nearing it's end. 😓 My favorite intros throughout the duration of the history of ATWT however was definitely first the original 1956-1967 intro although I wasn't even alive yet during those years, but something about the aesthetic of that decade in televison definitely captivated me and I enjoy listening to it. The later ATWT Eras 1981-1993 was absolutely magnificent, at that point I was born in the world and became invested in the show as I grew from adolescent to pre-teen, teen and young adult and I still to this day think the 81-93 stands out the most above them all. The 2006-2009 ATWT intro I also hold very dear to my heart because I loved how it showed 2 cast members in one shot with faded background scenes.❤️👍🏽👍🏽

The original "ATWT" theme song (1956-81) was a majestic goosebump inducer, both in its original piano/organ arrangement and in its subsequent orchestral version.

As The World Turns was on television on November 22, 1963 when President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.

So nice to see again. My favourite is the 80's leader, when I got hooked.

When I was a little boy in the 50's , life in our house was just like "As The World Turns" . We even had the organ music in the background to set the mood. I never could find out where that damned music was coming from. I always followed "The Guiding Light" in my unrelenting "Search For Tomorrow". Many tomorrows have passed since those days . I now wait for the day when my world stops "turning". I stopped searching for those tomorrows a long time ago as they seemed to easily find me on their own. I hope they continue to find me for a long time to come . AMEN

I “watched” it from the womb, lol. My mother wanted to name me “Lisa”, but my grandmother (her MIL) said she wouldn’t call me that because of Lisa on the show (so I was named for another soap character). I scheduled my college classes around ATWT and Guiding Light. Makes me miss my mom, thinking of these old soaps.

I come watch these time to time b/c these soaps were the ones she watched on CBS. Miss you Mom and love you!

1967- I remember our housekeeper watched this religiously every day! Her cigarette/ash tray and Schlitz on the kitchen counter while she did the ironing!!!! Lol!!! She was a love!!!

As the World Turns is one of my all time favorite soaps. Along with The Guiiding Light The Young and the Restless. The Bold and the Beautiful and The Edge of Night. Love of Life and The Secret Storm.

I used to walk home from school 1981 -82 for lunch. And the lady who lived down the street in Mission Texas was hard of hearing and had as a World Turns full blast and I could hear it every day as I passed her home, LOL great memories

Used to sit with my Grandmother and watch ATWT. Ice cubes jingling in good whiskey.....cigarette lit. Fun times!

1993 - 1999 the best theme, hands down!

The ones from 2002 on were the ones me and my mom remember growing up with together. In Philadelphia, that show would come on right after The Bold and the Beautiful. I wish that this was on Netflix to forever enjoy.

This soap had more big stars play on it than any other in its run.Richard Thomas was on it before he did The Waltons,Meg Ryan was on it,as were Marisa Tomei & Dana Delany,James Earl Jones and Robrrt DeNiro.Before playing Barnabas Collins on Dark Shadows, Jonathan Frid played a psychiatrist briefly on ATWT.Anthony Geary guested on it before doing General Hospital.

94th "like" -- LOL! Greetings from NYC! The second segment which you have marked as "1967-1981" should really be marked as "1973-1981." Actually, there should have been a segment between the first two, marked "1967-1973," where the piano-organ theme was being played, but where the opening billboard was the color one from the second segment. I was working at the CBS office building in Manhattan ("Black Rock" -- 51 West 52 Street) during the summer of 1973 and spent one week working at the CBS Broadcast Center (524 West 57 Street). During the summer of 1974, I worked at the CBS Broadcast Center for the entire summer. Charlie Paul was still playing the piano-organ version of the opening theme and the piano-organ-celeste version of the closing theme during the summer of 1973. If I recall correctly, he had stopped playing background organ music during the show and was playing an electric piano in an effort to modernize the sound. During the summer of 1974, Charlie's daughter, Carlina Della Pietra, was coordinating the music, and, by then, everything was completely prerecorded orchestral.

I would say the 81-93 intro was iconic in my opinions I had three sisters and two of them were older than me so they dominated the tv with soap operas 11:00 young and the restless 1:00 as the world turns 2:00 the Guilding light

It's nice to see so many men watched the show, Wish men watching it was more known in the 90's so I did felt like the odd one for watching Daytime TV.

In high school, I would plan my lunch and study hall so I could run home to watch As The World Turns.....Many of my classmates would do the same for ATWT or Days of Our LIves. When I was younger I would keep asking my Mom where Dr. Hughes was if he wasn't in a scene.

Thanks for the time it took you to do this. It’s interesting: what people produce and think of on You Tube. I have a love hate relationship with this platform, if they would only leave people alone and let people make their own decisions. But stuff like this is so innocent, and facts of what really happened and not some Trumped up lie. Ah, I digress. I remember this show as a child. Born in the 60’s so I remember the second one. I must say, as I look back, I can only remember a few decades. I was out of the house and on to my own life in 1987, and truthfully had gotten into the Lord and His teachings, so I no longer had a desire to watch soaps any longer. It just took up too much time. But God bless them for all of the gifts and joy and suspense the actors and directors gave over the years. It’s amazing to see us all age, yet stay the same in other ways. God bless you and never give up on your dreams.
