What are the white pieces of the lock mechanism made of? If plastic how long will they last from repeated use before weakening and snapping, and what stops an animal from chewing on them? For the price of these traps, I want to be sure it will last a long time with repeated use. Unfortunately I live in an area with many feral cat colonies and too many irresponsible pet owners who abandon their cats to fend for themselves when moving, so the trap will be used multiple times per week.
