Ascending the Throne is a Newzroom Afrika documentary covering the two-year journey of King Misizulu's ascension to the AmaZulu throne.
Set against the backdrop of a nation mourning the late king, the sudden death of Queen Regent Mantfombi, and divisions in the royal family that resulted in court cases as well as the emergence of two rivals to the crown, Ascending the Throne isn’t just a story - it is history.

I must say that this is a well put together documentary. Well done to Ziyanda and her team. I wish the AmaZulu nothing but the best in their time of renewal and rebirth with a new King at the Helm. Bayethe uyiZULU!!!!

Brilliant Documentary, excellent representation of what was happening then. I am Kenyan but I have been following this story, from across the continent with fervour. Was super excited for the translation as well.

Well done to the whole team who assembled this great documentary and make Newzroom Afrika to be the first channel to release a short documentary like this about the journey of King MisuZulu to be come a King of a biggest nation in Southern Africa. I hope part two is coming where the king is given certificate by the state president. Well done to Ziyanda indeed she is moving to the level of Siphamandla Goge keep it up MaFuze. Also well done to the cameraman Morena Lekitla and the crew you guys you made a great work during difficult times I am worrier sometime we treat you guys badly when we are at the traditional events and when our spirit are high but you always culm and understand the situation.

Greed and self-interest is ugly. This women knew how the world of the Zulu nation operate. The order of thr day is customary. The king and the common men would have more then one wife.Even some traditional Societies would have situations like this. Customs would make the final say. Customary laws is the order of the day. Long live the king.Misizulu Zulu the Zulu king of the Zulu nation.
