Why Doesn't God Heal Everybody?

Jesus is a miracle worker. He worked incredible “signs and wonders” during his 33 years on earth, and he continues to stun us with modern miracles to this day. He has healed physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. But if he has shown us that he can do this… why hasn’t he healed everyone?

Leaving the protestant faith and being confirmed into the Catholic church was the best decision our family has ever made. My oldest son was 14 at the time, too. He loves it and it's been a beautiful gift as a mother to see him grow spiritually. I'll keep you in my prayers.

35 years ago I was diagnosed with an inoperable, malignant brain tumor. 7 mostly emergency surgeries, over 2+ years just to keep me alive… bad time. Best thing that ever happened to me. God’s timing was/is perfect. The tumor one day, with no medical intervention, intercession from Blessed Mother, and the tumor went away. 35 years, 10 kids (fostered and/or adopted) later… I’ll repeat, God’s timing was perfect. I Wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but for me, that tumor changed many peoples lives.

True. As someone who is potentially suffering from small bowel cancer, just had it removed last week, I have to trust God and Jesus will take care of me. As much as I would love it to be in this world, I would pick His world anytime. Both is preferred of course. I also had suffered an accident while I was a young adult, preventing me from ever working. While God may not have seen fit to heal my injury, he did ensure I was taken care of otherwise. As bad as I am, and God knows I am so far from perfect, I will always have faith in God and Jesus.

Thank you for this video. I have had 4 friends and a cousin die in 3 months. I prayed for them to be healed but I have come to realize that their healing was in their deaths. They are now healed completely and you can’t get better than that. They are with Jesus.

I have been sick for years something has kept me strong is knowing I can offer up my suffering to Jesus for the salvation of souls. After I consecrated myself to Mother Mary, I just offer up my sufferings to Jesus through Mary for mother Mary intentions. I ask her to purify my suffering and than offer it up.

I needed to hear this message! My daughter passed away in 2006 from a rare form of cancer. I was told that maybe I didn’t pray hard enough. That hit me like a ton of bricks. My husband was told this happened to her because we weren’t good Christian’s. I’m so grateful to Father Mike for posting this, God bless!

You spoke to my mind, my heart and my soul. I truly believe that God calls us home when it’s the optimum time for our soul. I volunteered in the pediatric unit of our local hospital. I was sitting in the ICU at the bedside of a toddler who had just undergone open-heart surgery. Her parents needed a break for a cup of coffee. Concurrently, there was a 15-year old girl in the same room who had sustained multiple injuries in a motor vehicle accident. The nurses were changing shifts and giving report. The 15-year old had remained stable for the last 12 hours. I remember saying a prayer, “Heavenly Father, please heal her.” Not 5 minutes went by and this young girl started to crash. I remember crying out in my mind , Lord NO! And, I could hear His response in my heart, “It’s better that I bring her home now than to have her not make it home at all.” So, I remain trusting in God that if we live 1 day, 1 year, 25, 50, 75 or 100 years, it is but a mere dot on the timeline of eternity. Jesus I trust in you.

I have asked the Lord to heal me for so many years, but He has chosen not to. I feel like it is as Paul experienced my " thorn in the flesh". The Lord has said His grace is sufficient for me. I also feel He is glorified in it. The demons look and say " even in her suffering, yet she trusts, clings and longs for Him !" He is glorified as we persevere in Him, and a crown awaits. On my bad days I feel it hinders me from having the fullest life I can, and the enemy tells me " see ! that doesn't honor Him ! ".........I can only trust His mercy.

I understand. I have the same feelings.That my severe anxiety prevents me from doing more to help my family and husband. I feel more like a burden. Sometimes it feels so bad , totally consumes me mentally and such bad physical symptoms associated with it. I haven’t been able to go to Mass regularly because, I had Covid in February, got a bad sinus infection that took 3 rounds of antibiotics, severe cough that has hurt my ribs and back for months, and also my anxiety holds me back. I have degenerative discs in my neck and back since I was 29. Sometimes, on bad days I pray, Lord please heal me, I can’t do this anymore. I am 68 yrs old now. Sometimes I feel like the devil is doing this, so that I can’t go to Mass or receive Penance and communion. On better days I thank the Lord for this day and pray for Him to help me to be strong, to give me the ability to do these things and to show me the way to make this possible. We are supposed to find joy in our suffering, which I find hard. But I do say sometimes, I offer this up for the souls of sinners. And have noticed that the pain does not seem as bad. I know we just need to wait and trust in Jesus. As Jesus said to little Simon, I could heal you, but if I don’t heal you, people can see that even if you are not healed, you can say to these people that I still have joy in my heart for God. I still have faith and believe. Jesus said, just wait a little longer and then you will be running.

My father passed away 1 year ago. I have never thought about why didn’t Jesus healed my father. My prayers with my father as he was dying, was for my father to received the Good Lord. The Lord Loves covers a multitude of sins, thus bearing eternal salvation for us all. Our mortal body is just temporal ❤️

I needed to hear why Jesus heals & then the illness may return again. I just lost my son who passed on May 14 of 2023. It was a Mother's Day. Both my son & I are very close to our Jesus. We were prayer-partners & we prayed for my son's healing daily. He suffered from a mental illness. Jesus came to him in a dream & told him he would be dying soon. He shared the dream with me & we talked about it. My son only asked for His love & mercy. He died about two weeks after his dream & it was a sudden & quick death. I still do not understand it. I'm going through bereavement sessions with good Catholic leaders & a deacon at my church to be able to cope with life after my son's death. He was a young man & most kind hearted. I love him & miss him so very much.

I've had a benign arrhythmia for about 13 years. Recently, they started getting more frequent again. The beautiful thing is that they had disappeared for almost 2 and a half years. I got to LIVE without fear, and I never expected that would happen again. I really enjoyed that gift God gave me. He let me see what life was like without fear, anxiety, and uncomfortableness. Now that the arrhythmia has flared back up, I look back at all the wonderful things I experienced, and I am grateful. I couldn't be more thankful for the miracle God performed, and I am going to continue to pray for strength to handle whatever comes my way. I have other illnesses, but they've all brought me closer to God. I'm still uncomfortable with being sick, but I'm also at peace. It's my path. I don't know how to explain the feeling. I just know that everything is going to be ok even if it gets difficult. Thank you for the message, Father Mike. God bless everyone! ❤

I consider my chronic illnesses and surgical complications as a gift a blessing to allow me to connect with people and help others. I am constantly offering it all up for HIS greater glory. After my moms death when I was 16 I turned away, but by HIS grace and through my physical suffering He called me back and into a deeper relationship.

So true, God is not a vending machine. Our relationship with the Holy Trinity, with the Holy Family, all the angels and saints in Heaven and all the souls in Heaven who love us - demonstrate to me in difficult times that being alone is an illusion. You have heavenly powers protecting you, loving you along your life's journey in good times and bad. God is always on our side, especially when He says no to us. Thanks!

This is my consolation when nothing else fills the hole. I love that this message can be used for physical wounds as well as other types of wounds. Because we all care one or the other. Some of us carry multiple. Does it ever get easier? Possibly not. But we never give up the fight. God bless you all.

I question why some people are not healed and it's very difficult to accept. I know a beautiful devout Catholic family and the mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 30s. She had just had her 5th child. She was the most special person I have ever known in life. If there was ever a living saint, it was she. She prayed. We all prayed. All the time. For her. And she died, leaving behind a loving husband and 5 children. I can't help but question WHY? WHY? WHY? We need people like her on this earth. They were leaders in the church and in their community. Why take someone like this away from her family and away from all of us? Such a good and loving woman .....and she suffered terribly. That is an understatement. She suffered so much and was faithful until the end. I just don't understand and it bothers me to this day.

Jesus healed us 2000 years ago. By his stripes we were healed. It is finished he said. Anything he was going to give us he has given us. It's now up to us to believe and receive. Praise God.

When I was a small child I used to ask my mother why God didn't answer my prayers sometimes and her response has always stayed with me "God answers every prayer and sometimes that answer is "No"" - what we can know from this is that the answer is for Goodness to His Will and not Ours and we can always be blessed and thankful for that miracle of reality. In fact, WE MUST, lest Satan overwhelms our senses. 🙏🏻❤️✨ Praise God

Twenty- three years ago I almost lost my Momma on Christmas Eve. Five years ago I lost my Momma on Easter Monday. I was blessed to have her for almost twenty more years. The best Christmas present ever! I miss her terribly, but I know she is home now with the LORD. Thank you LORD for giving me those twenty more years. The LORD is truly good indeed.❤ Thank you Father Mike for reminding me how blessed I was to get more time. ❤ It has been a difficult journey the last five years. The holy spirit is speaking through you. 🕊️ And the timing is perfect. I needed to be reminded how much God loves us. Dear Fr. Mike, you are so right!!! Jesus may not have healed me physically, in the way I would like or expect. But I have to bear testimony to the fact that Jesus has never left my side , not once. He has healed me emotionally and spiritually in ways I cannot see and these last 7 years since my illness He has made me joyfully overflowing with love for Him and those He has put in my life. Watching this video for a 5th time.. I have total urinary incontinence at 23. For my whole life I have never had control over my bladder and have to resorted to wearing diapers. I can’t even feel when I have to go because everything comes out on it’s own. I also have endometriosis and got a hysterectomy at 21. Trying not to lose faith ..

How did you know I needed to hear this tonight? I had near death cardiac issues that have me scared and I was brought back to the church because of this major medical event last year. I was feeling good but now am having issues again….. I am clinging to Jesus with my whole being and praying to not lose faith….

Thank you father Mike. I had been away from the church many years. In the past two years I’ve had medical problems. MS? Some sort of neurological or endocrine issue? They still don’t know. For just over a month I’ve returned to the church. I’ve found such comfort in the lord. I’m renewing my relationship with him. This video explains a lot. Maybe god was trying to tell me something. Whether he heals me, whether the doctors, give me a diagnosis, it is not what defines me. I am home, and god is within me. God bless you.

I wish my brother was open to hearing this because he has literally told me that I’m not healed because I don’t have enough faith and that statement was VERY HURTFUL to me. Jesus has helped me to forgive him, so I continue to pray for him to know the truth someday.

Thank you Father. Your words are very encouraging. You have a special gift. I have been chronically ill for 50 years. It is very hard and I get discouraged sometimes. I don't waste my pain. I trust in the Lord. I've got my eyes on the prize ie. spending eternity in heaven with Jesus. No cross, no crown. God bless you Father.

Perfect timing as always father mike, I am currently in poor health, nothing serious right now but it is preventing me from attending mass in person and preventing Me from working, which leaves me feeling guilty and worthless, to hear these words is a great comfort as I continue to pray to be healed enough to at least attend Mass in person and one day work again, I remember you saying once in one of your talks, "hope has a name, his name is jesus" a saying I will never forget and hold on too always, thankyou father mike for saying yes to Jesus and doing all that you do.

I went through a period of anxiety after a betrayal in my previous marriage. It hurt and I asked God over and over again, somehow clinging to a miracle, yet submitting as hard as it may be. I divorced nearly a year ago; my little daughter is going back and forth during co-parenting. I have been recently embarking in a relationship, yet keeping parenthood and love as the main cause of my survival. I haven't made any sales lately, "been fishing overnight without catching anything", yet I tend to hear that "I got you... trust me" message that makes me move and cry. He is still Lord, He is still God, He still loves me". Thank you.

Jesus does heal and I don't always feel that within the Catholic Church. I often admire the Christian Scientists because they put huge emphasis on the healing power of Christ in a way that we don't always emphasise in our tradition. There is something we can learn from other denominations, particularly the church started by Mary Eddy Baker because they have so much trust and faith in the curative power of prayer and ultimately in Jesus. I feel we look too much into the ceremonial content of the sacraments but we tend to overlook the real healing power of the Eucharist, for example. We forgot the words "I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be HEALED" as it is central to our faith as Christians. Thanks, Fr Mike, for your talk on this aspect of our faith.

This video is such a coincidental timing as I asked Jesus not that long ago about why I am not healed yet (mentally) even though I surrendered and trusted in him. What I relearned is that Because God loves you so much as a Parent watching as his child running to him asking for help, that he will always answer and he will always find a way to heal. It could be instantaneous yes, but his will could also be through other means. He is the Divine Physician for a reason, and his will, the Spirit will lead you to his other servants, The Doctors and Medicine, though not perfect, they are given the gift of wisdom for a reason, to serve. As long as you trust him, he will lead you to the right path and person, as a Father, he only wants the best for you, and for you to love him back completely. This journey, has, because of completely trusting in him, and of Course the Sweet bread of the Eucharist, his body and Blood, and Confession, I've grown closer to him. A little bumbling stumbling little lamb who always wants to be at the side of the Good Shepherd. Do not forget The Blessed Mother and St Joseph, they are your family as well. As you keep your eyes on Jesus, they are there supporting you and praying for you

Thus far, I’ve been health, and my family & close friends are healthy, praise be to God. But if God instantly healed everyone that prayed for healing (like an ATM per Fr. Mike) there would be no need for faith, because God could hypothetically be everyone’s wishing well for all of our desires. The Lord works in ways we aren’t supposed to understand. But though our faith in horrible times, He will be with us until the end, and bring us unto eternal life. God bless you all!

I have fibromyalgia. There is little I can do about the pain, which can be severe at times. I offer my pain up. I try to be open to God in the present moment, to discern his will. I pray for others. I helps to think I could be being used by God to both help others and also my place complete trust in him. I know there is a reason why I have so much pain. I don't have to know what the, reason is at the moment. Trust and obey.

There’s a scene in the show The Chosen where Little James approaches Jesus and asks Him why He hasn’t healed him. He sees Jesus healing so many around him but wonders why not him. It’s a good scene if anyone wants to look it up.

I prayed and prayed and prayed for as long as I have known how to pray to be fixed, to be cured, to be healed, to be made whole to wake up being one or the other and just not stuck in the middle. Only to realize that my prayers had long been answered. That I am the person I was meant to be. I could not be the person I am now, doing the things I believe I was meant to do, if I was not blessed to have lived the life I did. I see the reason for my struggle and my journey to now have the strength to follow the road that has been put before me.

God's gift to me is my suffering, His calling me into a deep relationship with Him. My gift to Him is my suffering so He can use it to save souls. It's not easy, but that's the point. We have work to do, Heaven is the reward.

I have felt the love of God before my surgery. I have alot of pain from multiple diseases and i feel that no matter what i should be an example of Christianity, in spite of my illness. God didnt curse me. He made me an example of faith

I watch this on the day that I been to see Nurse about my medication to teach me what to do. This medicine might make me get low blood sugar and make me ill. Scary. I feel fine but I have to take medication that could make me sick to make me better. Strange. But I have to do as I am told. God makes me low to make me see the love in Jesus. Agree Father, I needed, spiritual and emotional healing, during Lent, after much emotional struggle, after many years, He took me through a period of purification. It entailed confession, self examination....it hurt....but now, still in the Easter period, I'm a different person. I'm 46 years old, my hurt started at age 4, God healed me, I asked....the difference is that this time it's something I really wanted
