Ash and Walnut Sideboard

Keeping busy whilst under quarantine, I decided to make a sideboard from ash with the dovetail joints. I've always imagined having such piece of furniture in my living room. It is fortuitous time to make.
I am using left over walnut slices (from my previous project) to make the second top for my Sideboard.
I spent 2 weeks on this project but I'm happy with the outcome. The sideboard turned out steady, strong and a little heavy.

Very beautiful. I wonder however if his great grandchildren will put it in a yard sale. Young people today believe in Ikea. True great furniture of the early 19 hundreds have no value to them.

That was awesome. I love the beauty of wood. The random contours and colors are what give the cabinet it's character. The same cabinet with different wood would have a different look. I think your attention to detail was amazing. Your kids playing in it was heartwarming and made me laugh. Great video.

Stunning work! For a man who says this is his "hobby", you certainly do the work of a master craftsman. Knowing your equipment, when to use a certain tool along with knowledge of the material, hard to believe you are mainly self taught. Very impressive.

To any one admiring the work or looking to buy it I would agree with you. To anyone looking to make a living doing such things I would say the add the cost of the materials, the cost of the tools, and the cost of your time. When calculating the value of your time count the time spent doing and the time spent learning. Craftsmen are paid not for what they do, but for what they know.
