Do speakers at these conferences not have to provide their paper in advance of speaking? How did this meet that minimal review?

I can understand, how much time you must be investing to provide your frank scientific opinion on these studies. It is so pity, that these so called myeloma experts do not understand this simple thing and above all ASH committee also do not object such wrong messages in so called best scientific conference.

I HR smoldered from 2008 to 2013. When I was first diagnosed, one doctor (from an institution that had just built a transplant center) was quite sure that I should transplant then since my numbers were a bit on the high side for smoldering. Second and Third opinions not so convinced. 5 years of just monitoring, now I've had everything thrown at me. I for one am glad for the 5 years of non-treatment, because the last 10 years have been a nightmare.

Could you possibly make a vlog explaining the difference for a patient with Mm when they opt to NOT treat with chemo or radiation? In a kind manner? I have been living with 80 % loss of life due to scoliosis and fibromyalgia for the past 14 years. Formerly a ballet dancer until 54, when I was hospitalized for pneumonia and given Cipro which wrecked my body within 3 months of the hospitalization. Now I’ve been diagnosed with MM, had surgery to remove a cancerous growth within my spinal cord. Had a “cage” put in along with pins to support the severed spine. 3 months later and I’m Still in pain from the surgery, although it’s difficult to say if the pain is from the surgery, or the scoliosis. I believe that these chemical cocktails the propose, along with radiation to “kill any remaining cells they didn’t get in the surgery”, may induce even MORE pain, and I would rather die, than incur more pain. I live in a recliner and my bed as it is. Please advise using your unique expertise and outside of the box thinking.

What I find disconcerting is that the speaker of this particular ASH lecture happens to be the chairman of the NCCN guidelines panel group for MM.
