Ashbringer Full Story. All Cinematics. The Return of Tirion Fordring Meets the Wrath of Lich King Arthas, Clashing with the Legacy of Alexandros & Darion Mograine. Once meant to purify the land, the Ashbringer was corrupted in service of the Scourge. The Battle of Light's Hope cleansed the blade, turning the tide against the armies of the Lich King. One of the most iconic battles in Warcraft Lore.

i turned everything on during the moment of the speach before we attack Light's chapel and i think they up and removed the blood rain from the game

Even with less graphics, or fancy cinematics, the voice acting direction, the story and lore were all so much better and enticing. In this short segment, you've got the return of Ashbringer, the Death Knight betrayal, return of Tirion Fordring, Lich King as an imposing villain (and overall Warcraft icon), even Darion's flashback with Alexandros. Just beautiful storytelling, worthy of more than just an in-game sequence.

@@Athelarius Indeed and it seems that everything has a time that it reaches its peak in all aspects and imho i think we got to witness that time for WoW bk in those 3 expansions Tbc, Wotlk and in the end Cata after these the game just declined more and more..

It's amazing how Darion is technically the second death knight to break free of the Lich King, only beaten by you, and how in 9.2 he's apparently incapable of resisting Domination. Hell, remember when Darion MADE a mourneblade? I feel like I'm the only one that remembers it sometimes.

Some of us long time wow players and lore fans, who cared about the lore, have more connection to it then the modern writers Activision blizzard hired on recently. They likely only read summaries of the old stories, they didn't experience them, they built no connection to them, so they don't care if they mess them up.

@@Jen-Yueh_Hu of course, we've seen this deconstrutionist mentality of modern day 'creators' in every form of media, this mentality of wanting to break down every piece of media, entertainment and society as a whole. And the fact the ones doing it only know how to destroy, but don't know how to create, means any notion they suggest of making it better by destroying the old is moot.

Hiya Folks! For our Christmas special, we decided to bring one of the most iconic battles of Warcraft Lore, the turning point that turned the tide against the Lich King. Also the best lore reveal in-game as we see the return of the Ashbringer, cleansed when it enters the hands of #1 starfish Tirion Fordring, who at the time was in hiding, while Darion remembers the last words of Alexandros Mograine. No need to say more. Merry Christmas All!

This was the best expansion... I had a blast roaming through the frozen wastes of Northrend until the final encounter with the Lich King himself. :)

Aside from the fact the Lich King would also appear numerous times throughout the expansion and taunt until the final encounter, its also the many years of lore that the Lich King had embedded in Warcraft. Arthas and his history from warcraft 3, left his mark on the franchise, the equivalent of the Burning Legion & Sargeras/Illidan/Kil'jaeden. The two top building blocks of the WoW universe.

Rivaled only by Deathwing and Illidan I’d say. And this Lich King voice is definitely better than the earlier version, which I believe is still heard in Naxxramas.

I think its important to note that the only being to not be bound to Frostmourne is Alexandros. His soul was bound to the Ashbringer by the betray of his older son Renault, but was freed by Darion in the Ashbringer comics. Just goes to show how strong Alexandros was and how he earned the title of Ashbringer even before the blade was forged.

It's hard to believe that the light is getting more morally ambiguous. The thing about the light is that it's a weak power. It can't do things like arcane and fel. But when it's needed the most it helps do things like tirion shatter frostmourne.

The Light was a mysterious concept, a power where only those with pure heart could wield. But then comes later as everyone and their mother can use it and manipulate it/corrupt it. Blizzard writters not knowing that sometimes, it is better to not explain things. *Cough Cough* Shadowlands

The light is very straightforward in it's approach. As long as one's convictions in their cause and themselves is strong enough, the light will flow through them. Any sort of doubt or lack of resolve weakens the paladin/priest considerably. This also means that anyone comiting terrible acts can also use the light as long as their faith and belief in their righteousness is unshakeable i.e the Scarlet Crusaders.

What I Hope (Merry Lichmas) 1. The Sylvanas we see now is a clone who replaced the original Sylvanas before the War of Thorns by the Nathrezim. 2. The Primus remakes the Helm of Domination with Arthas’ soul inside. Arthas continues to become the Lich King on Azeroth as one of its protectors. However, he needs a mortal host to take control.

Darion Mograine's loyalty to his father is just awesome like Athelarius's cut 🥰 And it makes me cry when I see them. This is the connection what I missed from my father. Sorry about my english, i'm hungarian. :)

Never again will there be such a beautiful franchise, even from the simple Orc vs. Human days, we've seen the rise of Arthas and the Lich King, Illidan & the Night Elves, Sargeras and the Burning Legion, Old Gods and their influence on Azeroth, so many aesthetics and lore pieces that make Warcraft so iconic, with the art style & direction building up a great foundation. Hurts to see what it has become.

thinking about it Frostmorn was kind of like a mini jailer tower, empowered by the souls that its owner had broken. Maybe the jailer should go down by a similar rebound after a vessel of control is broken

Especially loved the part where Darion and the New Horsemen went to ressurect Tirion, but the Light wouldn't let them. A long final rest well earned, for the Light's greatest champion.

Imagine one game which, somehow, the memories of the current Jaina is implanted in the Jaina in front of Stratholme. After what she see, she decided frozen Arthas and become the lich queen. She is a professional spell caster and because of this she have absolute control of the situation. Her soul is stuck in frostmoure and become more blood that ice.

C’thun, Razorgore the Untamed, Edwin VanCleef, High Priest Thekal, Commander Vorka, Erunak Stonespeaker, Ammunae, Arugal, Houndmaster Loksey, Captain Rupert, Amnennar the Coldbringer, Grandmaster Vorpil, Vul’gor, Gruul the Dragonkiller, Heigan the Unclean, Majordomo Executus, Ossirian the Unscarred and Vaelastrasz.

The nostalgia I feel, back when the lore was amazing, the story gripping. Now it’s lost all its essence, void of any feeling or creativity. It’s been ruined. In my mind the current lore isn’t canon.

I tried to rise Fordring because only a Silverhand can wield an Ebon Blade.. Just don't ask why did we get a high ranking orc soldier, a Scarlet Crusade inquisitor or an ancient king.. God this story is full of plot holes..

Shame they now ruined Arthas' legacy. He wasn't controlled or a pawn of this idiot Zoval. He was his own master empowered by, but not controlled by, the forces within the helmet and blade. What a hack job, no wonder everyone is leaving this now stupid game

@@xernymon if you watch the cinematics, you see the items whispering suggestions to him, not actually forcing his hand, unlike Anduin who seems like a zombie while being 100% controlled by Zovaal.
