Myself (Dan Hendriksen PGA Pro), Lester Barnes (Scratch Handicap), Lee Whittaker (9 Handicap) and Will Farley (Pro) have been invited to play and stay at the wonderful Manor & Ashbury Hotels near Okehampton, Devon in South West England.
With 99 holes of golf, all on one site, the Ashbury is accredited as the ninth largest golf resort in the world. No other English golf course provides a better combination of stunning scenery and exceptional challenge than the acclaimed Ashbury Golf Resort. Located in the heart of one of the most captivating areas of the Southwest, the hotel delivers spectacular views of Dartmoor across the rolling Devon countryside towards Exmoor. Our premier Kigbeare course is a 6528 yard, par 72 course which is widely considered among the most unforgettable golf experiences.
In this course vlog we will be starting on the friendly Oakwood Course which many guests favour to play as its sets them up for a great stay at the resort.

Love this course. Not played it in nearly 20yra though when I was on a golf holiday at the Manor House Hotel which the ashbury Hotel is part of that complex albeit 1 mile away. Love love it. Won't 2 comps that week

We go to this place every year! Its a Fantastic resort, and the buffet food is great, Kigbeare is my favorite track there! Great to see some old pros tear these tracks up!!

Another great video. The only problem for us mere mortals, is having to keep buggies on the paths. Can be one heck of a walk to the other side of the fairway with three clubs in hand. Im assuming you got dispensation as your were filming , what is effectively a promo for the place.

Love that place, I think me and my mates are the only ones stupid enough to walk Kigbeare Course In the snow, as the buggies were unavailable..... Took us the whole day to complete...

Lee looks a bit like Lee Van Cleef in that hat (unfortunately also called "the Bad"), so I guess that makes Dan the Clint Eastwood character ("the Good") and poor old Lester has drawn the short straw as the Eli Wallach character ("the Ugly").

You focused on Lester (glad he’s back) when you mentioned celebrations then you started talking about him making his put.

We need courses like this in the US. I have been playing golf for over 25 years in the USA and have played literally hundreds of courses all over the USA and I can't ever remember playing a par 4 that was under 300 yards and you already had 2 of them in the first 3 holes! Is that a normal thing in the UK (unfortunately, I have never been overseas to play golf)? Maybe it is because we have a lot of land over here or that most of our courses are much newer when the equipment was better so the designers never even thought about that type of reachable par 4...not sure but I would love it.

A lot of the courses in the UK are shorter than what you would get in the US. This complex is designed for golfers to enjoy rather than be beaten up by the course, lots of fun 👍 thanks for watching and commenting
