im not convinced this is a lane that its even possible for garen to win unless ashe stands still all game

You definitely need one or two successful ganges, when she push lane and start auto you under tower. After that, Ashe will simply stop doing damage to you and will be so weak that you will oneshot her in one flash all in. If jungle does not come on time, you can only scream with rage or pray. This is the same as Vayne or Akshan top, but stronger early (due to constant slow) and more vulnerable to gangs. p.s. Another way is just perma push and die for ways (Ideally in a proxy position). That's how you keep your farm and don't let her get plates.
