This dude still puts out great music. He was weirdly ahead of his time. If you go back to Pabst & Jazz, Seared Foie Gras, and even Retrohash, they were all unique projects with a bit of a different sound to them that you didn't get very often in hiphop at that time. Not in the mainstream at least. He'll never get his respect from the hiphop community at large, but he's an OG and a true artist.

Yes there is serious age discrimination in the music industry and its sick and needs to stop. It makes no sense. If an artist has dope music, good image, huge fan base and proves to be lucrative why does it matter? The whole thing of the labels want to target 18-24 yr olds and because of that the artist must also be that age is extremely false. Saint jhn is 35 and just went on his first tour a couple years ago at 32 yrs old and in his audience is all teens and kids in their 20's, Lucky daye is 36 and its mostly women in their 20's that are fans of him. Clever is 36 and same thing a bunch of young fans. They all just blew up recently. The fans DONT CARE. Nobody is gonna say "ayo turn that song off that dude is 31" lmao The idea that the artist needs to be the same age as the audience is stupid af and a lame excuse to hide the industry's real reason for age discrimination. Which is the first thing Asher and Ebro said, the labels want young artists to screw them over and give them bad deals because they're young, naive and have no idea about contracts and money management. An artist in their late 20's or early 30's is wiser and will know they're getting a 360 deal or losing creative control. Ebro is just siding with the labels because he has deals with them and doesnt want to say anything bad. Even Boosie held his tongue about labels in his latest Vlad interview. Its unfortunate that this beautiful art we call music is being guarded by evil, nasty, wicked-intentioned executives in suits.
